Hey guys, I'm pretty worried right now. In the past few hours, Bandit has been gaping his mouth. He has been doing it repeatedly, and its starting to worry me. I let him out to explore. He sat there for a few minutes and starting gaping again. Then he ran around, and sat there. Then he started to gape again. So I'm about worried about him having a possible Respiratory Infection. He doesn't have any mucus, has no hissing sounds, and his breathing is okay. Breathes deeply when he is about to gape. Please help, I don't want my little one to have and infection. Thanks

Hi there....how is Bandit doing today ? How old is he ? If he's just starting to get an R.I you might nip it in the bud just by raising the night time temps. to about 80 to keep him warmer. Also if you bathe him, be sure the water is warm + that he gets patted dry + put back i the tank right after to warm up.

Hopefully it's nothing serious but if he seems to get worse you can get him to a vet for antibiotics if need be.

It is morning yet, so his light is still off. It doesn't turn on until 8 am. Here's a link on my tank setup https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gz2OXdmoBpY. I feed him mustard/collard greens, Bok Choy and Endives on occasion, crickets, and super worms. I bathe him in a large sink in the garage. By the time he poops, he is impatient and jumps everywhere, so it is difficult to dry him. He automatically basks to dry once he is back in so yeah. I'll try the night temp tonight, and see how it goes. I'll let you know if he is still gaping today.

Hey Guys. Bandit has been doing great lately. He went in his cage, which never happens :D . He hasn't been seen gaping, has a large appetite, and seems happy. His breathing seems deep and heavy to me, but it may just be me being paranoid. :) I'm glad he seems to be doing better!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!

Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
