So in mid. August Mazais' appetite started decreasing. At first, she stopped eating her greens. I thought "maybe she's just bored of them" or something like that. So I wasn't worried. Then, about 2 wks later, she stopped eating as much crickets as usual. And then, I left for a family vacation to Canada. (I didn't choose! My mom made me)! So before i left Mazais ate about 50 crickets. But my grandpa, who was taking care of Mazais and Baltumins said that Mazais didn't eat anything on the first day I was away. Then, on the second day she ate 4 crickets, on the third, she ate 5 mealworms, on the fourth she ate like 5 crickets and a few superworms. ( yes in know, My grandpa tried a lot of insects)! Then, when I came back, I started force feeding her. I've been doing that for about 2 wks now I believe. So, she's been getting food into her, so that's good. She's been acting pretty much normal except for the last 3 days (since the heat wave here in massachussetts). For the last few days she's been sleeping on and off during the day. Otherwise she's alert, not lethargic. And when I take her out of the tank she's really active. Ok, so she poops every day, and her poop isn't solid solid if you know what I mean, but its not even close to diarrhea. It doesn't reak, but it smells unpleasant. But isn't poop supposed to smell bad?
Temps: hot side, 95-105 during the day, 90 at night, cool side, 80-90 during the day, at night 75-80.
UVB: reptisun 10.0 tube bulb, spanning the whole tank. 5 months old. (Will replace in October)!
Calcium/multi vit: cal every other day, multi vit twice a week.
Feeders: mealworms, crickets, and occasional wax worms
Greens: spring mix salad, carrots, occasional baby lettuce.
Fruits: occasional strawberries, and rasberries.
So I thought at first that she may be going into semi brumation, but she's only a year old (almost EXACTLY a year old)! And it's only September.
So, then I thought of parasites. I'm prob getting a fecal done this weekend, but I just wanted to know what you guys thought
Thanks!
