Hi

I feel like a pain in the back side at the minute, asking questions. If someone could help me i would appreciate it very much.

Thursday the 16th May i took my newly acquired beardies for a check up at the reptile vets. The vet run through all husbandry and everything was fine. She said both of them were fit an healthy.

However, i cannot remember the last time my male pooped. I think it has been at least 10 days.
I have contacted the vet this evening (uk), they said to take him in first thing as he could be inpacted.

He hasn't really eaten anything too big, the only thing that i can think of is that it was a cricket, i put some in his viv, and there was a bigish one that he was adament he was having first, and didn't eat anything else until he had got that one. I still don't think it was too big for him.

I just don't know wot to expect at vets tomorrow, any ideas would be appreciated

Thanks

If the vet says he is fine after the visit, and you still think otherwise, try this. I have heard that giving a beardie a luke warm bath and rubbing its stomach for up to 30 mins can stimulate a bowel movement. See if that works, just make sure that the water is not to hot or it could burn him. Hope this helps.

Maybe try feeding it something to help with bowel movements. I dont know exactly where on this board i seen it, but i think you can use prune baby food, or mineral oil. I would look into those before attempting them though.

hi,

thanks for you comments they were very much appreciated.

I took him to the vet this morning, he examined him an said he could feel something there, he was just about to show me how to feel him an check him myself when Rocky pooped everywhere  hehehe the vet turned green :puke:

Anyway i now know where to feel him an how to massage him correctly.

Whilst the poop was on his table, he also checked for worms and gave him the all clear :blob5: :blob8: :blob5: :blob8:

So for now everything is good, i'm sure i will get paranoid over something else soon though

Thanks again guys

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
