My 1 1/2 year old beardie Charmander seems to have some sort of eye injury. It doesn't look like an infection to me, but something is definitely not right. The skin around one of her eyes is very dark and slightly swollen. She seems to prefer keeping it closed but when she opens it, the eye itself looks normal, clear and bright. The problem has just been since this morning. I gave her a warm bath and flushed the eye with saline solution just in case there was a foreign object in there that I wasn't seeing. I'll check her again in the morning to see if there is any improvement. If not, does anyone have any idea what this could be? I use a Repti Glo compact fluorescent bulb and a desert basking bulb in her tank. Temperatures are kept around 85-90F during the day, down to 75-80F at night. Her substrate is reptile carpet. There are some branches in her tank that she could have scraped her eye on, but nothing else that I can think of. Any ideas?
