possible enro overdose???? help

okay so my vet put one of my females on enro for a respiratory infection and gave me a dosage chart. his "new" vet tech who must be a ***** went to get me the enro liquid. well the sheet the vet gave me is for a dosage of 10mg / 1ml and i followed the sheet and gave her .09ml as it said but then my wife said ummmmm this bottle is 50mg / 1ml strength so we gave her WAY WAY more then she should have had. like 5 times the dosage now i dont know what to do,

there are ZERO emergancy vets here who see dragons and no one will even have me bring her in because they have no one to see them. i dont want her to die from this because otherwise she is super healthy and she is my BABY i love her so much.

does anyone know of anything i can do to help her right now. i know they can throw up so i cant do that. the enro was injected into a roach she ate. im really really really worried for her right now. do you think she will be okay with this dosage or at least live through the night? im hoping this doesnt cause her kidneys to fail now. i cant believe the ***** vet tech gave us the wrong stuff.

Watch for signs of distress, gaping a lot with black beard, trying to vomit, etc. If you can keep getting extra fluids in her that can flush it out more quickly. Even the fact that she took the meds. with a meal will dilute the strength of it to a degree. There's a good chance that she'll be fine.

If your're really worried you can get activated charcoal at a drugstore but I've never used it. It absorbs toxins and allows them to pass through undigested. But I don't think you'll need it.

i just gave her 2 full syringes of water and let her eat a few more good size discoids (which she GLADLY ate lol) so she is pretty full now im hoping the extra food and water will pass this out quick. also the benepac probiotic. she would prob keep eating if i let her she is our one dragon that will literally eat anything we put in front of her

do you think we should wait a few days before proceeding with the normal dosage? or should we give her the correct dosage tomm? im really annoyed with this vet he was not my normal vet because my normal vet was out of town (he goes to bush gardens to do some of the reptiles there like surgeries etc) i really am furious and dont want to bring her to this guy unless i have to.

im thinking of giving her 2 or 3 days to fully get rid of it and then start her on the PROPER dosage i can use the 50mg stuff they gave me just have to give her much less of it which i guess is a good thing. what started this was her starting to make popping and some very slight wheezing noises and her saliva being a bit stringy. which even i know are tell tale signs normally.

I agree with AHBD's advice. At this point I'd wait for at least a few days and start again with the proper dose. You may want to wait for your normal vet to come back so you can consult with him and see what he suggests. I've provided up to 22.7mg/ml before as normal dosage so I think she should be OK. It's good to have an activated charcoal kit on hand anyway in the future. If the suspected RI isn't severe it can probably wait a bit without an issue.

should i go get charcoal or do you think i should wait? we have both walgreens and cvs 24 hours here as well as walmart (not sure if they will have it or not) she looks okay so far its been around 2 hours so far. if you guys think charcoal will help i WILL find it.

ill re calculate this 50mg stuff and give her the correct dose because he gave us basically a full bottle (50ml)

my normal vert is awesome and this sadly is the guy he said to call while he was away im sure going to let him know what happened when he gets back.

With all the water + food you got in her I think she'll be O.K. Since you fed her kind of late be sure to keep the tank warm for a few hours.

she will be sleeping next to me on a heating pad (covered with blankets so it doesnt get to hot) with another one over her (again covered in thick pillow cases so she doesnt get to hot) like a dome sort of. of course ill be checking the temps regularly. i dont think i can sleep worrying about her so ill be up watching her for most of the night. her beard is a bit dark right now not black just darker than normal. she is one of my rescues and ill be devastated if anything happens to her.

Hello,

A couple of things you can do is to make a greens slurry out of parsley & cilantro as they help bind toxins & can flush it out. Activated charcoal can help as well, along with oral fluids.
That was a rather large amount so hopefully it wont affect her too much.
Let us know how she is doing.

so far she looks okay i dont see any outside signs of anything bad but i cant see her kidneys which i wish i could. i do have charcoal i went out and bought but do you think that would still be effective now? she was dosed at 8:30pm est last night.

I wouldn't bother with it at this point. That's more effective if administered right away but keep it on hand and perhaps make a dosage chart so you can read it easily when you're in a panic in case she gets into something like a lightning bug down the road. I hope you never need it though. For now just keep offering her lots of water to help flush her system out and I think she'll be OK.

she is still hungry as can be at this point so thats a good thing. so far she seems okay. i am just so upset with this vet. i did let my normal vet know and he said he would personally follow up with the other vet at this point, he was NOT HAPPY this happened. that other vet just lost a huge amount of business he gets as overflow from my normal vet. even though it was more the fault of the vet tech my normal vet said it doesnt matter the vet himself should have double checked the meds before handing them over 100% no excuses.

Hello,

I am glad that she is doing fine, hopefully no damage has been done. It's good to have charcoal on hand, just in case you ever need it.
That's great she is still eating so she must be feeling alright.
Let us know how she is doing.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
