im about to take in a dragon as a rescue. i dont have her yet but she is tiny maybe just 1-2 months old. her back left foot has an issue. her longest toe close to the nail has a dark spot all the way around the toe. as well as it doesnt bend there. not sure how to explain it. but where it is dark the toe cant bend it stays straight even when trying to gently bend it. like a normal beardie toe if you gently bend it the toe will curl like a circle, her toe will bend at the very tip then a section stays straight (where the black area is) then will bend again after that. picture a letter J where the toenail would be on the end of the hook of the J then it will bend again after the straight part. then the next longest toe has a small black spot close to the nail right behind it. it does flex and bend normal though. it does not appear swollen if anything where the black area is seems a bit thinner then the rest of the toe does.
could this be a broken toe? a bite? she was being housed with 3 other baby dragons, as well as they would throw in a few dozen crickets and then leave for a few days so it could be even a bite from another dragon or a crickets(s), she doesnt like it messed with to much but it doesnt seem overly painful as she lets me examine it pretty closely. i dont have her yet and before introducing her to the house where all my other dragons are im wondering could this be simply a broken toe? or being black could it be some kind of fungus or toe rot? i will try to get some pics soon but i will not have her for about a week due to the people being away (they left her alone for the week AGAIN)
she is BEAUTIFUL color wise and i know they paid near 300-400$ for her. she is a super bright red all over color wise.
any thoughts?
