Positive Adenovirus???

So after some issues with Boris I took him to the vet thinking it was a URI problem. I got meds for Coccidia since the vet suggested the bubbles were most likely due to that not a URI. He also suggested I get a DNA test for the Adenovirus, I got that done. He recently called me back and said it was positive. Now after doing some research i've found out that the Adenovirus can only be diagnosed after a necropsy so how did he diagnose it? Does my vet have that new technology or is he trying to squeeze every dollar out of me possible?

Adenovirus can be diagnosed through feces and blood/DNA. The feces has to be sent in a solution to Lou Ann Miller in IL.

You must of read old research.

Did they test for other viruses such as Corona Virus. It usually goes hand in hand with adeno and that could be the cause to the bubbling as it mimics a URI. Nothing can be done and they will eventually get over it as my female is 3 years old and tested positive for the Corona Virus at 5 months old but no longer has it.
