Need help, posted on here a couple weeks ago 'cuz my beardie was having bloody stools. Took him to a vet got a fecal everything was normal, vet said he was just constipated... Some people thought it may have been from freeze dried crickets so i've stopped feeding him those and just witched to live crickets.
His poop got better and better but then today he pooped out nothing but what I think is blood. I'm pretty sure he pooped it out. I also felt near his vent and I feel a bump I don't know what to do. I don't have 50 bucks to take him back to the vet. I'm seriously worried and concerned about him :(
Here is a pic of what I think is blood

Its all splattered 'cuz I accidnetly put my finger thru it (gross i know)

He pooped a few minutes after I found the blood spot, (he pooped on my bed lol)

The urate seems to be small but it is squishy.

Hello,

That does look a little like blood.
Which substrate do you use? How often are you giving calcium for him?
Which UVB light are you using right now?
I would start giving him soft foods such as unsweetened applesauce, along with canned pumpkin with a drop or two of olive or mineral oil daily, to help him out.
You will need to use either a plastic syringe or dropper to get the food into him.
Are you bathing him right now?

Reptile carpet substrate, I've been lazy on cleaning hsi cage.
After the last vet visit which was 2 weeks ago I bathed him 2-3 times a day, it looked like the poop was getting better (only a speckle of blood and less straining) then I sort of thought he was fine and got lazy on the baths after a week of that.
He also hasn't been eating his greens, he still eats crix and babyfood (i have to spread babyfood on his greens so he'll eat them).
So I started bathing him again, I wonder if hes constipated/dehydrated again. I'll give him some of the applesauce we have some in the fridge and should I stop giving him crickets for the meantime?

Reptisun 10.0 uvb and his crix are gutloaded w/ calcium, sometimes sprinkle calcium powder on the veggies

Hello,

The Reptisun 10 tube is fine then. The calcium should be given 4-5 times per week if he is under one year. If he is over a year, then you can back down to 2-3 times per week.
So if he doesn't eat his greens, his insects need to be dusted as well as gutloaded, too as you are already doing.
Are the crickets smaller than the space between the eyes? Maybe back off on them temporarily to see if his stools improve in case the feeders may be too large. Have you tried worms for him?
That is great he is not on sand or loose substrate then so it would not be impaction from substrate.
He may be dehydrated which can cause constipation as can low calcium levels, too. So continue the baths as well as maybe some oral fluids to help him out for awhile.

Let us know how he is doing.

He is over a year and a half old, he'll be 2 years in late winter. I used worms for quite awhile but stopped because they were getting too expensive.
So I gave him a bath today and he pooped in the bath, was bloody again. He must be really constipated, the poop yesterday was the first time he had pooped in over a week. How many times a day should I bathe him, i usually do 20 min baths is it long enough? Should I put a pan/bowl of water in his cage so he can soak in that too?? i'm really worried ugh. i'm also wondering if the freeze dried crickets were the culprit and if they cut something inside of him and thats why he's bleeding?? I stopped giving him those after the vet visit. Or can impaction cause bleeding?

Just out of curiosity, have you had a fecal done?

yeah vet said it was negative for parasites. But he had pooped in water and I brought that sample, would the water have affected the results?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
