Poop schedule?

How do you know when he's going to poop? He seemed a little restless so I took him out of his tank and put him on my bed so he could run around. He scurried to the foot of my bed and proceeded to poop! I quickly scooped him up and put him back in his tank, but it was too late. So I pulled my blanket off the bed and threw it in the washer. Thinking he was empty, I took him back out to let him run around, and he pooped on my bed AGAIN!!! Any tips on how to avoid this in the future?

With my boyfriend's beardie, we give him baths before he runs around. If he doesn't poop in the bath, he doesn't need to. My little one is more unpredicatble. Basically she's gonna poop when and where she wants. They do get restless before the poop, often lift their tails, and may rock back and forth.

He does lift his tail right before he poops, but by that point it's already coming out. Giving him a bath before run-around time is an excellent idea. Thank you! :blob5: :D

I'm well aware that once the tail comes up it's too late. My little one got me GOOD today lol. I wish the bath thing worked with her, but I've only gotten her to poop in there once.

My beardie is a poor pooper. He has a bowel movement once a month, sometimes more often, but not usually. What seems to help with him is activity. I take him outside and let him runaround a bit (totally supervised, or a bird might get him), then put him back in his viv. Usually he will poop soon afterwards. Baths are a good idea too, i heard beardies like to poop in water. If they're not used to water though, they may not do it. Try to bathe him more often. Beardies are supposed to like water. Mine doesn't, but i don't bathe him that often. Which reminds me, i need to bathe him now!

Where do you let him run around so that he doesn't run away? If I take mine outside and put him down, he tries to run away. If I put his leash on and put him down, he doesn't want to move.

Most of the time when I bathe him, he poops. Maybe I should spritz him less and bathe him more.

We let him run loose in the house, and outside. Most of the time he just sits around and thinks about where to go, then he'll haul butt down the hall, or out the door. He never tries to run away, and we always supervise him, especially outdoors. We have five cats and two dogs who never bother him. The cats are either disinterested, or frightened of him, and the dogs just step around him. I never thought he'd try to run away, and he never has. I've never spritzed him. He doesn't seem to like water at all, but i still make him take a bath every few weeks to help hydrate him.

My dragon wiggles his tail at the base before he lifts it, then poops. I've been able to get a towel under him in time. Maybe yours does too?

Just got caught myself, Bambam just pooped on my keyboard.

Roran does this too! I will even give him a bath and he relieves himself there before he is allowed to roam. But he still pees on my computer!

Being little, I have only just started letting him out of my hand or off my shoulder. He has been very cautious and strays only a short distance from my arm before climbing back to safety. Today though he thought he would just go and poop on my keyboard.......I guess I should think myself lucky he didn't do it on me!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
