OK, They found them so all is well...and they were all alive. 1,000 babies. Roaches are hardy, but that many days w/o food or water...they areHi,
Sorry mods if you read this. I argued with myself as to where to post (health, feeders?) ended up settling here
My small dubia should have arrived Saturday. Never had a problem with feeders arriving on time or even early until now.
Short version: The only thing available to me at petsmart (only store around with any kind of bugs) are LARGE superworms and maybe waxworms. Crickets are not in stock and when they get them they will be really large. Razz is only 11 weeks old.
He is on meds so he needs food of course. He just started Ponazuril this morning, he had his first dose of Panacur on the 14th and will have (hopefully) his last dose in one more week. He had his last (again, hopefully) dose of Metronidazole this morning.
Just want you to know the med situation. The panacur and Metron...has not affected his eating and I don't know if Ponazuril will, but I doubt it.
Knowing this, what should I do? He had the last of his dubia this morning and I am nearly in tears not knowing what to do for afternoon and evening feeding I will give him chicken baby food, squash baby food for *lunch* and yogurt pro-biotic for a snack later and likely will have to do the same for supper.
Then what?
He will take baby food from a syringe. Will that be good enough for 3 or 4 days? (It will take that long to get new dubias to me).
He does not eat salad either but we work on it.
I do have a dubia colony (just started 2 weeks ago) and wonder if there is anything I can do using them. I fed off the last of the little babies this morning..(I was fortunate to obviously have a pregnant female when I got them!)
I did give him a few that were *questionable* size wise. They went from the top of the *ridge* of his eyes rather than in between, but I watched him eat the first one and he chomped and chewed very well before swallowing. I am sure there are quite a few in there that would be a bit larger than the space but I am afraid to use them
Those are my choices. I am grateful for advice! Tell me what to do LOL
