I have a three month old baby beardie and I looked on many pages say ing that they eat upwards to 50 crickets a day. I just got this little guy and he ate yesterday and pooped this morning. Is it possible that he is full? All he does is just bask on his hut. Please respond

I have had several dragons, including tons of babies, and usually when they are anywhere from 6 weeks - 2 months, they don't eat as much as that.. but once they get older, anywhere from 2 months all the way up to 10 months, they will eat a ton more. Don't sweat it. As long as your basking temps are good, you will be fine. Just takes some time for them to start eating like crazy.

If you just got him he could be undergoing relocation stress. He might not eat much from anywhere from a few days to up to two weeks. If it gets to be longer then that, then I would start to worry. For now, just let him settle in. Offer crickets 2-3 times a day and fresh greens. You can also carefully give him a soak in some warm water (no warmer than you'd bathe a baby in) up to his shoulders to make sure he's hydrated if he isn't eating but doing a lot of basking. Im sure he'll be fine once he's settled, relocation stress is very common.

Good luck with your baby!

Don't worry Im sure you're going to do great. The fact that you're worrying just shows that you care! :) My Norbert is my first and only dragon and I've had him for 4 months, and I still worry about every single thing he does! Beardies will drive you crazy with worry but it's definitely worth it.

Last I measured he was 16 inches long and 261 grams. That was sometime last week though, so he's probably 16.5 inches and 280 something grams now. He's been growing about a half inch in length and 20 grams in weight a week lately. He's 5 months old. :)

Mine is 2-3 months and I have him in a ten gallon cage. Is that okay? And when should I move to a bigger one? He's about 6-7"

I would get a 40 gallon breeder. That will last him through adulthood, and save you from having to buy a new tank later. A 10 gallon tank is really much too small. You can't get a proper temperature gradient in that size tank, so I would get a bigger one as soon as possible.

Would it be fine to leave him in there for as month or two. He is still so small and I have all the correct lighting and temperatures. The tanks are jus so expensive.

Do you have any Petco's near you? If so, right now you can get a 40 gallon breeder aquarium for only 40.00. The sale only runs for a little longer I think. That is an awesome price...it is like 75.00 off of the regular price. Then you would have the home he needs for the rest of his life! :D

I'll try to get it but it will likely no happen. Ik I can get one in maybe a month. I'll see if any of my family has one in the meantime. But will he be fine for a month?

I really don't know... I really suggest if you don't have the money to borrow it from someone or something. It really isn't safe. In a month or 2 he'll be 10-12 inches long and thats MUCH too big for a 10 gallon. And regardless of his size, it's really hard to get a good temperature gradient in a 10 gallon, and that's really important.

What are you temps as of now? On his basking spot, hot side, cool side? And what are you taking the temps with?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
