Please Pray For Sophia!

Hello everyone, I have a 10 month old beautiful dragon but sadly she is not doing very well at the moment at all She is suffering from the parasite coccidia and has had some medication but it has wiped out all of her good bacteria, she has being eating lots of soya yoghurt which she loves but sadly she has lost a lot of weight! She has an emergency appointment at the vets in an hour but im so afraid of what they are going to say please keep her in your thoughts!

I broke down and cried in the vets like a softy Basically he checked her weight first and she has lost a lot
which if she continues could lead to a very serious problem.
He then tested her fecal sample and it came back clear of the parasite so the medicine we gave her did the job!
However she now has worms so he has given her some medicine to get rid of them and he had to take some blood from her to test to see if there's anything wrong with her internally. Poor baby has a bandage on her tail and it made her very dizzy so she isn't a happy girl! The vet is going to ring tommorow night to let us know what the results are from the blood but my mum has to take the call because I can't handle it if it is bad news.
Because Sophia won't eat anything the vet has given us some medicine for her to take twice a day which will give her all her nutrients and prevent her from losing any more weight until we can get her back to eating regular salad and live food.
Hopefully if the blood comes back clear then we can get little soph back to health!
If she continues to decline then we have to rush her straight to the vets and she has to have an x-ray.
I am so upset and afraid for her so any support and advice would mean the world to me right now, thank you!

So the vet finally rung with Sophia's blood results! he said that her biochemistry is good (dont know what that means?) but she either has a viral or bacterial infection so have to get her started on medicine right away. I have being crying all week because there is nothing worse than when your beardy is ill and there is little you can do to help

We went to the vets about an hour ago for the blood results and it turns out the coccidia was hiding a virus which is why she was not improving after the medicine. She has not lost any more weight and she has not put on anymore either but she really needs to. And now she has had some swabs done and they have being sent of to a reptile specialist lab in Germany. She has hepatitis and her liver is failing she is on critical care medicine and a special liver care medicine.

I am so afraid and upset, please keep Sophia in your thoughts x x

You poor thing! I almost cried myself just reading about how sick Sophia is. We can hear your pain in your words. Here is a prayer and a hug for you and for little Sophia. I remember when my beautiful Rosie was sick with Coccidia and lost a lot of weight. It just broke my heart. Sophia sounds very brave. Hang in there.
