If she was terribly malnourished in her previous home, maybe her tummy just over-reacted to all the new offerings. And you mentioned she drinks huge gulps in her bath - dehydration decreases their appetite, so if she's kept hydrated either by a daily bath or by giving her water from a dropper, her appetite should improve.

She already looks amazingly better! Phoenix/calci/reptiworms or butter worms are soft as well as being full of calcium, so those would be good options until she decides greens are worth a try.

i just caught up on this and i feel so bad for her! just keep her temps up and keep her hydrated with baths. she may take a while to get off of the carnivore care & baby food because she needs to gain some strength. you can already tell she feels better with you. hopefully with time and patience she'll start eating on her own. good luck and keep us updated!

Yeah, that sounds like brumation.

No, it's not brumation. Poor little thing, just keep offering the baby food + critical care with hydration. This is definitely not brumation, she is critically ill and has no strength. By the way, don't turn her on her back, she will not be able to breath.

It's better to err on the side of caution, certainly, but what indicated to you that this is not brumation? I wouldn't want to make the same mistake with our beardie.

She is extremely emaciated and just plain tired. Very ill beardies act listless, with no energy, and would act the same way no matter what time of year because of the bad shape she's in. The fact that she vomited a few days ago shows she is very ill. She is in no shape to brumate. If you want another opinion, please p.m. any of the mods., you might feel more comfortable with their opinions, but this little dragon is in no shape to brumate. It's not your fault that she's ill.....I hope she can gain some strength .

Oh, the poor thing. I agree that she is very sick and is NOT brumating. When beardies brumate, they look content and comfortable, she doesn't look content or happy at all, she looks like she isn't feeling good.

Are you using the red bulb for her at night? Are you using a bright white bulb during the day?

Did the vet check a fecal for parasites?

I just now took this photo the red like is a night heat lamp,it's not on at the moment the regular light is a basking light (zoomed I beleive) and the bright shine is the UVB light she has no parasites.other than the Mbd n her jaw wich I've been giving liquid calcium for(the specialist told me to) she is fine..they say she has no energy from the lack of proper lighting and food but she should perk up

I really don't think she should be living on sand when she's so sick, it can hold bacteria and she could be eating bits of it which won't help her out at all. Paper towels or non-stick shelf liner would be a much better option, as it's easy to clean and she can't accidentally ingest it.

Also, your UVB light looks like it's kind of far away from her....can she get within 6-8 inches of it? You may want to lower it by attaching it to the wall of her tank, so she can absorb more UVB....it might help her perk up a bit more, especially if she's not climbing around to the higher spots on her tank very often.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
