Please Help. What can I do?

Hello everyone. I'm Nick one of your newest members. I have a friend that is trying to sell his bearded dragons but they both have health issues. I am mainly interested in buying the male from him because the male is in worse condition then the female. The male has a growth on his face that has made one of his eyes close itself and swell shut. I am hopping that you all can help me solve what is wrong with him so that way he can live a happy, healthy, painless life. I can try to get pics for all of you if you guys need them.

Oh god poor thing, definitely needs attention. Its probably not just a growth, looks more like a bad infection from the substrate however it could be an abscess/growth of sorts. Do you know how long he's had the eye problem?

Also if you can i'd take him to a reptile specialist vet (not an exotics vet), http://www.anapsid.org/vets/#vetlist this should be helpful for finding one close by. The reason why i say not an exotics vet is because they could actually kill him or put him in more pain than help him.

I know for infections you can use raw unpasteurized honey to stop it from getting worse however im not entirely sure about eye infections if it is that.

Are the male and female housed together, and just out of curiosity do you have any pictures of her?

Not sure how long he has had it. I will upload what pics of her he gave me and yes they are housed together but she is burmating right now. He said she has mbd. here is his posting: https://treasure.craigslist.org/for/6429356919.html

Seeing the enclosure and somewhat how the lights are setup now im wondering if it could be eye damage from a toxic coil bulb that worsened to an infection over time. If the female has MBD then the male most likely does as well.

If you do decide to get him or both make sure to separate them both or their road to recovery would have many bumps, far more than what it probably would have if separated.
If your friend ends up giving you the enclosure it wouldn't be really useful since im not sure how you could properly mount the uvb tube inside or on top.

Anyway if you do get one i'd personally set it up very sterile, paper towels as substrate (or tile/non adhesive shelf liner however paper towels may be easier), with a basking log/rock (something easy to bake/clean in case of parasites), and a food dish for salad. You can use a paper bowl/plate or a "reptile" food dish but a small paper plate works very well.

As for lighting with a 36x18x18 or 36x12x18 enclosure a 75-120 heat lamp should work well, with a 34" reptisun or arcaida T5 HO 10.0 tube light in a reflective fixture to fit, you'd sit that on top of the screen, or mount it inside using wire if possible. And then just replace every 6 months or so.

Temperatures ranges
basking spot - 100-110
warm side 90-95
cool side 70-85
Humidity
20-40%

Ok. I didn't want his cage anyway. I am asking him for just the male. Does anyone else have any tips on helping him get better and where to get things like the honey because I have no idea where to get any kind of things like that.

It depends on your proximity to a bee keeper or a GNC or health food store. Raw honey is a must for any dragon owner.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
