Hi guys and gals! My girlfriend works at a vet clinic as a CVT and pet smart brought in a baby bd today and said “having a hard time eating today” and they wanted him euthanized. She got permission from her doctor to bring him/her home and let us try to save him. She’s been giving him food and water with a syringe. He seems very weak and barley able to move. He’s been in our tank now for about 25 min under heat and has pooped but still barley able to get around. He keeps opening his mouth and moving his head around almost like he’s gasping for air. Is there anything you guys can think of for us to help revive him and bring him back? Please, any and all info is great! Here’s a couple pics of the little guy

He looks terribly thin --- I would set up a hospital tank like a plastic tote set his lights up over him w/ the tube UVB going width wise across the tote you want the UVB approx 8-10 inches from him for a T 8 or 12-15 inches for a T 5 and have it set up in the middle of the tank w/ the basking bulb there as well - you can use a clamp and clamp to side of the tote --- his basking temp should be 105-110 and I would try to keep that tote over nite warm like 80 --- if you haft to use a heating pad w/ towels over it and place him on it put your probe next to him so you can get a ambient temp for the nite -- try and keep him warm -- if you dont have a tote then use the tank you have and set it up like I described --- you need to keep him hydrated what is she feeding w/ the syringe? He needs greens either a slushy or critical care herbivore / and carnivore mixed --- and it will be thick so you will need to water it down and maybe cut the tip of the syringe off so it doesnt plug--- I would feed 3 times / day small amounts like .5ML at a time --

Hello,

Poor thing, he is very thin & fragile.
He may be impacted possibly. Was he kept on sand, do you know?
As suggested, go very slowly with feeding him & only feed in small increments several times
per day.
Let us know how he is doing.

It wasn’t but a few minutes after this post and he passed?. I appreciate the advice and we feel terrible but at least we tried. I was thinking impaction myself but they never diagnosed him at the vet. I think unfortunately he was a little too far gone already.

Hello,

I am sorry for your loss, poor little one. You did your best but the main thing is that he
didn't pass away, all alone, he had you with him.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
