Please help my Beardie juvenile:(

Godric is my juvenile beardie's name and there is something wrong with his tail.. It's just this one spot right here that wraps from half way on top of his tail to the bottom and it hasn't spread At all since I noticed it.. It looks like that part of the tail dents in right there too.. I thought it was shed constricting it but when I tried fixing it his tail started bleeding (not a lot. I barely noticed but I still noticed..) and I also tried shed helping solutions and it helped me take like one little piece off.. And I have been putting neosporn on it too hoping the antibiotic could possibly help.. Can anyone help??

Hello,

It looks like retained shed, definitely.
Have you tried daily soaks, in combination with using olive or mineral oil, or even shea butter to help out?
Being persistent with treating it should take care of the problem quickly so it doesn't retain too long & constrict blood flow to the tail.

I certainly don't mean to scare you but we had a baby beardie who had a mark just like that, it turned out to be CAN-V (otherwise known as yellow fungus). I would take him to the vet to be sure.

So far I have been soaking him daily and working on pealing it off. It's making a little improvement but there is still part of his tail where I'm working on it but it looks like no results are. Coming from it.. The tail indents where the patch is so I'm assuming that's cutting off circulation and growth? I'm really hoping it's not the fungus

His long has it looked this way?
The skin is coming off slowly? Have you tried using olive or mineral oil on the area to help, that is pretty effective.
Keep doing daily soaks to try & get that off so it doesn't constrict. If the color doesn't improve it would be a good idea to have the vet check it out.

It's looked this way for a few months. I am able to work it off a little bit but when I go back the next day it just seems like there is no change or that it all came back some how. I'm trying daily to work on it because I don't want it to construct but he hates it and it stresses him out so much. And I think it hurts him a lot too and sometimes his tail starts to bleed I feel awful for it but I am trying and it seems to not help that much

Hi there....it does look to me like it might be Y.fungus. If it's still raw/bleeding put some unpasteurized honey on it. After it heals, put Lamisil or Monistat antifungal cream on it. You can actually try to mix the antifungal cream with the honey. By the way,I know you want to help but never pull on the skin.

I know I should never pull off the skin and I don't but on his tail I have been told by multiple people that I need to take off the shed and it won't come off any ther way. I looked up all the stuff about fungus and it hasn't spread or anything and he has an appetite and everything. I'll try the stuff you suggested though but if it were fungus it definitely would have spread by now.

If it is just some skin, the honey should loosen it up [ as well as the a.f. cream ] so it should be fine.

Definitely try the honey also, as well as the anti-fungals in case it could be fungal. Let us know if there is any progress for him.
