Hello, I am wanting to get some advice on if my setup is as good as I think it is for my new bearded dragon that I am getting. I purchased a 40 gallon breeder Zilla tank, 2 heat lamps, one will have a 100 watt zoo med basking light in it, and the other lamp will be on the other side with a reptisun 10.0 bulb in it. I have 2 hiding spots in the tank, one on each side, a water dish, and a grapevine for the beardie to bask on. I also have thermometers as well in the tank, the substrate that I'm using is childrens play sand. My questions are does my setup sound good? Below is a list of items I purchased from petmountain, tell me if this will be a good setup. Also, is a 100 watt light going to be too hot or just right in a 40 gallon breeder? The bearded dragon that I will be getting is a juvenile male. I have spent nearly $350.00 on all the accessories and tank, and that was a discounted price through petmountain, if i would of went to a local petstore I would of paid easily $600.00 or more.... Let me know what everyone thinks...THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

ps. How many crickets and worms should a juvenile be eating a day, and greens?

Sorry i can tell its an order sheet, but cannot really tell what it is you've purchased! Is it possible to write out what each thing is?

everything looks pretty good. one thing that caught my eye though, is that it looks like you got the reptisun compact flourescent. at least that's what i'm assuming based on the description. if that is the case, you will really want to get the tube version instead since the cfl version has shown some issues.

you also want a digital thermometer as the analog ones are very innacturite.

What will you be using as a substrate??

Something else I noted - you're using childrens playsand as the substrate - GET RID OF THAT NOW! No sand, no loose substrates (walnut shells, etc) Use ceramic tile, slate tile, non-adhesive shelf liner, pet carpet, paper towels but DEFINITELY NOT sand!

Crix and worms - NO mealworms - ever! 1st they have NO nutritional value at all plus, due to the high chitin content, can also cause impaction. Small hornworms, Silkworms are fine, I'd only offer other worms as a treat but NO SUPERWORMS until your beardie is easily 16" if not 17" in length. Phoenix Worms or Black Soldier Grubs are awesome and a great staple. (check out reptiworms.com here - he sells them and offers a 20% discount to us - great person to deal with too).

You'll also want to be offering your beardie a salad of fresh greens (collard, mustard, etc), some fruits (minimal) and squash - they like that.

The temp gauges - are they stick-ons? (couldn't tell) - if they are, they aren't accurate. You can get an Accurite temp gauge from Walmart for $15 and it's awesome. Also a temp gun is great for getting right on temp readings (sears has one)

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
