My sweet baby Mushu is eighteen months old and I purchased him from his previous owner on Tuesday he was perfectly fine and normal up until today around Two he vomited his vomit was mostly only slightly decomposed Crickets I fed him crickets yesterday for the first time and I was given false information from his previous owner that I should feed him large crickets as many as he will eat in twenty minutes and that his temp needed too stay between 85 and 95 during day up until he threw up I kept his take between ninety and ninety two with a 30% humidity level I found out he needed hotter temps after he threw up and rearranged my room so he was away from the large window I managed too get his temp up too around ninety eight or ninety nine but even since he’s thrown up one more time I tried too ask one of my friends what could be wrong and she called me an ***** and said I not only over fed him I basically single handedly made him sick by his temp being that low after feeding on so many she gave me no advice other than hurtful insults and telling me I was going too kill him and should never be able too have another beardie I am so scared I am failing him and I just want too learn and help my precious angel recover he has had normal poops even after puking

Ok so dont listen to that "friend" and no more advice from her --- please post pics of your tank and lighting --- https://www.beardeddragon.org/useruploads/ click on XIMG at top of message box and then click on the pic it should post --- next your basking temps should be 95-110 taken w/ a digital probe or infrared heat gun - NO stick ons!!! Your UVB should be a Reptisun 10.0 bulb either a T 5 or a T 8 and in a fixture w/a reflector --- NO COILS !! Your dragon should be eating salads/ veggie every day and not just crickets - he is a adult now so he should be eating protein 2-3 times per week -- crickets are fine but I recommend switching him over to dubia roaches -- they are way easier to take care of they dont stink and they dont chirp --- if you cant get them where you live you can order them on line most people on here order them that way --- we can give you lots of help but lets first get your light and basking temps figured out

Please answer these questions I asked in earlier post- I see basking but what is the UVB? He's gonna go thru relocation stress so his eating will slow down but it's imperative that you have proper temps for digestion - that stick on is that the only way your getting basking temps?

Hello,

I got your PM & will message you later.
Do let us know the type of UVB light you have. Something tells me that it is a short, compact
type or coil light for the UVB?
He is big enough to have large crickets, but, the main reason he has thrown up is simply due to
improper temperatures. You will need to get a digital probe to properly measure the temperatures
instead of a round stick on type of thermometer.
When they vomit, it will leave their systems upset, just like with people so he probably wont have
much of an appetite for a few days perhaps. You can get him some probiotics such as non dairy
acidophiliz or non dairy soy yogurt but make sure any soy yogurt is organic only!

For now, keep him a little warmer overnight, around 80 or so to help him out since he isn't feeling
well, You can use a ceramic heat emitter or a heating pad set on low. You can put a towel in
between him & the heating pad so he doesn't get too warm.
Oh & your friend isn't a very nice person, either.

Let us know how he is doing.

Maximum tempature in the tank is too low 100 105 for the mac spot but make sure he has a good gradient to get lower and you dont seem to have a uvb unless it's the the dual fixture which in guessing it's a coil no good and get some decor in that prison cell

Hi there, even though he was sick he should be fine. As mentioned the temps. need to be around 100 for sure. One more important thing is to offer water now. Vomiting is very dehydrating so use a syringe or eyedropper to drip water on his snout . You can also give him in a lukewarm 5 minute soak if it doesn't stress him too much and dribble water over his snout if he doesn't voluntarily drink on his own. After the soaking pat him dry + immediately put him back in the heat of the tank. He looks heathy + should have his appetite back in a day or 2. :)

Just too reply too the comment that said put some decor in the prison cell when he threw up I immediately removed all puke and all decor that had puke too thoroughly clean the so he would not be exposed to the bacteria he does have other perches and hammocks the uvb light is small in my opinion it is a tube light but it maybe is only about ten inches long I tried last night too order a new eighteen inch Arcadia D3 12% but I don’t know any reputable sights for reptile supplies that I could trust and I would need a fixture as well considering the one I have now is too small

Hooray!!! Glad you got some gentle food into him and that he's basking! Once you have his setup all good, he should show a big improvement. :0)

Oh he honestly already has and I just got the notification that the thermometer and new light fixtures stays changed to shipped so it will be here soon he has been desperate for water tho I have been giving it too him through a eye dropper I purchased this morning and he drinks every drop I put on his lips then when I stop he sees the water bottle we get the water out of next too his tank and scratches at it while staring at it he looks like he is begging for water but I’m hesitant to give him more then five cc’s every hour and a half because I dunno if beardies can get water toxicity from drinking too much too soon when dehydrated although we did the pinch test and he is obviously very dehydrated plus his skin was extremely wrinkled before we gave him the water and baby food seems the more we give him his skin is getting less wrinkled and his color is becoming more vibrant and his stress spots on his tummy are completely gone we also moved his uvb light over by his basking are and cracked the lid so it is shining directly on him no longer through the mesh and he seems too be very happy about that before he wouldn’t go all the way up his ramp he’d lay halfway up but now that the uvb light is shining directly on that area when he’s not running all over his tank or watching tv he’s laying directly under the uvb light and heat lamp

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
