My dragon Bandit hasn't gone in nearly two weeks. I'm getting really nervous because I gave him to baths and nothing happened. He'll be fine in there then he starts twitching his arms and head, and rubs himself on the ground. But other than that he is fine. He has shed on his vent, may that be the cause? Please help, I'm paranoid of causing a prolapse  :(

Hi there... Is Bandit an adult ? Don't worry, he should be O.K.....many older dragons can go for long periods . Unshed skin on the vent is not connected. To help him poo, try to give him any of the following.... applesauce, baby food prunes, canned pumkin [ no spice ] or squash with a syringe, adding a few drops of veg. oil or honey. Also try a warmer than usual bath, a bit deeper than usual so he almost has to swim. Sometimes that will stimulate them to poo. But don't worry, they can go for long times [ although not ideal ] and still be fine.

Yes he's and adult. The shed has partly come off and is just being stubborn. I have strawberry applesauce would that be okay, and what about that weird arm twitchy thing he does?

Yes, that would be fine....add a few drops of veg. oil, the combination is a natural laxative. Then tomorrow give a nice warm bath....warmer than usual. But can you post a video of the arm movement ? Is he generally healthy otherwise ? Can you list your exact type + brand of lights you have + the temps. in the tank ?

2 things. #1. It has sugar so it should be fine right? If so, how would I serve it, on top of some greens? But if he doesn't go tonight, I'll try to film his arm twitch thing. 2. I have a 50 gal tank, a solar glo bulb, 150 watt i believe. His bask temp is 96 degrees. He is alert and as fine as usual, just won't poop.

It's O.K with sugar because you're just using it for a 1-2 time thing, he should go by then. If not you can get some canned pumpkin or baby food squash, both should have much less sugar. But try using a spoon or a plastic feeding syringe and see if he'll eat it straight or whatever way he'll eat it.

Thanks. Could I put it on his bok choy?

Yes, whatever way you think he'll eat it .
I gave him some last night and he LOVED it. Just got to wait until he goes. I also may know the cause. He has a paper towel under his basking spot do if he poops it's easier to clean, but I noticed some bite marks on it, may the paper bites be blocking?

Good to hear that he liked it, did you add a bit of veg oil ? And no, little bit of paper won't do any harm or make a difference either way. There's a thread about 2 months ago [ or so ] where the beardie ate + passed an entire paper towel, with a pic of the dragon passing it.

But anyway, go ahead + give him a warm bath....it may do the trick right then. :)
Also, the sugary stuff is O.K in a pinch but you might want to have baby food squash on hand for the future, it contains far less sugar and is a healthier choice.

Hey, I wanted to share a story of my 10 year old beardie.
He loved pumpkin and he ate it a lot of it (he had impaction issues as an old man) and I would have to wipe his face with a damp paper towel then dry his face he would eat pieces of it just so I would stop (he was messy). He did eventually pass it in 2 days and they were only corner pieces. My 9 month old did that just today ate a corner piece of paper towel (this one is a brat and likes to play with it). So my experience with it is definitely a lot calmer now that I know my 9 month old will be ok. Yours will be fine too, just my 2 cents. Like AHBD said a beardie passed a whole one.

Good news guys he finally went! I had to give him a bath and it was quite long. There was an obvious difference in him, no arm twitching, and he tried to escape (something he hasn't done in the bath in a long time). He was getting annoyed and kept trying to get out, so I decided to take him out and let him bask and see if that will help. I have a bucket I use to transport him from his tank to the bath, and as soon as I put him in it, he let it all out! Looked like 2 weeks for sure. I'm so glad he went and now he is happy as can be. Had to hose the bucket but it was worth it. Thanks for all the help guys, I appreciate it. :D

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
