Glad to hear Oscar is still improving!! I would start out with maybe one or two simple things. Collard greens definitley and some squash, butternut or acorn. See how he does with those. Let us know how it goes!

Thanks Kelly! He has nibbled on the turnip greens. I will get some squash tomorrow and see how he likes those. Just scared to death to make him go into seizing again...

Great news that Oscar is still on the mend! Thanks for letting us know. If you are still concerned that one of his foods was associated with his seizure, you could re-introduce them one at a time. For example, give him collards for 2 days, and see how he reacts. The next 2 days, give him only another veg. That would help you single out which food, if any, was a trigger. So wonderful to hear that he is doing better!

most bearded dragons dont learn how to drink from a bowl, its best to just bathe them everyday in some warm water.

My old beardie would drink from a bowl so I guess I assumed they all would if they got thirsty lol guess i was dead wrong this one refuses to go near the water bowl. He will drink from my finger dripping onto his nose and from the bath tho!

That's good that he is acting better and that you have the new bulb that you will be able to use once you get the fixture.

I think most of us here are in agreement that the compact bulb was more than likely responsible for the seizures, we have read about that happening before.

So far as I can tell I think that was def the issue. My iguana doesnt have that issue, weird... hmmmmmm

Hello. I am glad he is improving so much. The iguana may not have issues with the lighting because EACH reptile requires a different set of requirements etc.
Once you get him on a regular calcium and vitamin dusting (the easiest is mon-Fri calcium and sat/sun vitamins) schedule, you will be fine. I doubt the food had anything to do with the seizing , I know from experience seizing is typically the beginnings of a calcium deficiency and/or lighting issues.
Hang in there you are doing great with him!

Awesome! And I do have him on that same dating schedule since I got the calcium yesterday. I am super excited that he hasn't seized again. He got 15 minutes of outside time today, he was a lil timid but I needed him to get some UVB til I get my fixture on Thursday.

Got my hood in today and set it up with the reptisun 10. Oscar seems to have made a full recovery. I'm slowly introducing different things back into his diet. Thank you all so much for all your help!!!
