Ayra recently started doing something weird during feeding time. She will stop eating and it appears that she is hiccupping. I got it on video, it happens a minute into it. Her viv is 4' x 2' x 2', her temperatures range from 105 to 80 degrees with Repti Sun 10.0 light and floodlights for basking. She eats crickets three times a day (about 40-60 crickets a day) and vegetables. She poops 2-3 times a day and is 10 weeks old. She appears healthy except for this weird thing she does. I hope this link works the first time, first I have posted a video. Please help!

Hello Amanda,

That is perfectly normal behavior. They are constantly pushing food down after they eat & that is how they breathe as well, by forcing air through their throats by the muscles in that area. Plus, when they start to get full, they will tend to do that a little more often.
She is very cute, & looks healthy. :D

Thank goodness! I have two others that have never done this so I was worried. She eats like a ravenous beast so I am glad to know that she is getting enough. She is my little cutie :D

Hello,

Yeah, no problem! She must eat alot, because she probably only does that when she starts to get full, right?
She is a little cutie pie! :D

Yes she does do it when she is getting full, and then gulps down 5 more. They are funny little things, how easily they rule our lives and emotions!

Hello,

Ha, that figures. She is probably trying to make room for a few more, taking advantage of the opportunity in front of her! Yes, they are precious little ones, aren't they?

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
