Hi, I have a 2 year old beardie that I am hoping to give to a good home. He is well fed and healthy, but he doesn't get the attention he deserves. We lieve in North Carolina.

My question is that I have posted in the "for free" section, and someone asked if I could ship it to them.

I don't think I would do it because I would like to meet the new owner and my children are reluctantly giving him up. They agree it is the right thing to do, but I think they would be horrified to stick him in a box or something and ship him off. I am sure there are procedures for this but you know what I mean!

Is this standard practice?
Thanks!

Yes, its standard practice and very safe when using a over night shipping method like fedex. You line a box with styrofoam insulation, add some kind of padding, put the dragon in a reptile bag which is soft cloth bag and pack it in snuggly so it doesn't bounce around too much.
Babies are generally put in small plastic containers instead of bags and if its cold, you use special heating ads made for reptile shipping.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
