Plastic ring on a zoomed lamp broke

Hello everyone,

in Duchesse's enclosure I still haven't figured out how to install a secondary source of light at nighttime that wouldn't tak emuch space of be dangerous for her. As such, I switch her bulb at night from her basking spot to her CHE. However, today the ceramic holder separated and the plastic ring, which was way too dried, broke. I have another lamp as back up, thank god, but I was wondering if it was really needed for the lamp to fonction or if I could keep using the lamp as is?

For the cost of a fixture I'd probably just get a replacement. I'm not certain what piece is broken though (I'd have to see photos of the fixture). I like using chicken brooder dome fixtures from the farm store since they are powerful and cheaper than reptile specific ones. Even a place like Canadian Tire might carry them (they seem to have just about everything). They are usually no more than $10.
