placement of heater?

i got an under-the-tank heater and a rheostat yesterday and was wondering where you guys put the heater in or out of your bins because this is my first time owning a colony of dubia roaches. i didn't get them yet so i have a couple of days to situate the heater

From what i've been reading it is placed under the bin on the outside of it. I'm going to be starting a dubia colony as well so i've been reading up on it alot.

I have mine under the tank. But I have heard that some put this inside and also on the side wall. Just make sure that there is a large warm spot somewhere in the bin and a temp gradient so they can move over if it gets too warm.
