PIEBALD BEARDIE???????????

i have 3 beardies, I just got one that has discolored skin. It kinda looks like cow spots. Is this a fungal or bacterial infection? he moves around fine and acts fine. Its just his skin looks weird. I have not seen anything like this online and i have been searching quite a bit. If someone has seen this before PLEASE let me know what this is all about.

I just got him today. The lady said he has always looked like this. She also said he is a giant morph. If he is a piebald giant morph this could be BIGG!!

Yeah i held him up by his tail. can we get over that and not call me a [inappropriate word removed by mod]. it was the only way to look at the underside of a 21" giant morph beardie.

So lets move on.

Why would dark sand make the discoloration if he was shedding. By the way he has no signs of shedding.

They're saying that the darker areas of the beardie have been stained from living on a dark substrate, and he has shed only some areas of his body so patches of him are clean and the rest is old and stained still.
That's sort of what it looks like to me as well... they can take months to shed all over sometimes.

Yep, looks to me like he has shed in spots and where he hasn't shed is dirty. Looks like when he finishes shedding he will have some really bright colors!

Thats not just clean skin showing. If you look close at the first picture, you can see that the spots are really white and the stress markings are yellow. This is exactly how piebald appears in snakes, white with yellowish markings. If it is truly just dirty shed coming off, then that will be the most unique colored dragon ever.

smkdzzl420, I would stop calling him a giant morph though, 21" isn't a giant and is considered fairly normal sized for a male. A true giant would be over 24 inches and sadly, they don't seem to exist in America anymore.

I really hope some breeders chime in on this. If it is a true piebald then its very exciting for the world of dragon morphs, especially if it can be proven genetic and isn't just a fluke.

Sure they're stress marks? The rest of the darker area doesn't have markings, just looks like a dirty white belly

But I'll be interested to know the outcome, once he cleans up.

when i rescued Cleo (R.I.P) they had her on black sand and it stained her black when she shed it looked exactly like that. forgive me i didnt meen to call you a [inappropriate word removed by mod] i over react i have problems with animals being held by their tails i have a rat with no tail b/c the owner decided it would be fun to try and tease his snake with it while holding it by the tail.
