Charmander will let us pet him and doesnt seem to mind us in his cage but has zero desire for us to pick him up. We are attemptting to clean his cage with him in it cause he will not let us pick him up. We come qt him from the side and front not the top but im at a loss

It may take some time for him to get used to handling. When you do pick him up, be sure to support both hands and feet. They don't like feeling off balance and will panic and flail if they aren't well supported. They also tend not to like the feeling of being put down too quickly.

So been doing resesrch on taming beardies. Right or wrong i grabbed a hold of him with really no force it was a bit of a struggle but once i got him supported in my hand he laid there and let me pet him. He would open and close his eyes and stick his tongue out as if to lick me. He beard didnt go black either.

Is this a small victory?

Thoufhrs or concerns?
Or if you need more info hit me up

Sounds like a breakthrough to me =). They lick things around them to get a better idea of what they are. I've grown to think of bleps as a greeting from them. It's generally a sign of curiosity, I think.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
