so i thought today would be good. had a great workout yesterday slept well last night, woke up to no soreness :D got to work got everything that needed to be done finished and then my useless volunteer shows up. she literally tries to weesle her way out of doing any type of "work" and when she does something she half ass does it. then she will come up here with me and make messes that i have to clean up!!! :angry5: like just a few minutes ago, even after i told her to not bounce my dogs ball in here she did it anyway (its a kong so it really has bounce) i have a little area, and of course the dog goes after it it bounces off him and hits my computer!!! this is gov't property and it almost fell in the floor!!!!! so after all that you would think it was over...well its not. there is a lady going to hawaii and i have gone over this stuff and given / emailed her copies of this stuff 3 times!!! and she comes in here and is a complete bitch to me because: i told her she would have to go get a money order or write a check for the lab to do the blood work. she says "you should tell people that before we come all the way up here for this stuff" i chose not to say a thing to her because i know me and i know what was going to come out of my mouth lol!!! momma always says "respect your elders" so it was better that way. so i took the griping from her and went on about my business, next thing i know the volunteer is bouncing the ball again and it bounced off the wall and hit her cup which then spilled all over the floor... she claimed she cleaned it up but she didnt really. laying a papertowel over something and leaving it there doenst qualify as cleaning, so sorry. so after i got the papertowel unglued to the floor by her pepsi i then had to go get cleaner to clean the floor...wtf.... so by now you are wondering where the good news is right?
well the husband sent me a text and told me 3 little words:
PHOENIX IS AWAKE!!!!!!  :D  :p   :blob5: :blob8:

knowing that makes my day super... i feel 10ft tall and bullet proof right now lol!!! i'm so excited for this day to end so i cna go home and hold him!!!!!

i was so excited i had to share this with you all!

she is finally gone!

her final performace was her messing with that damn ball which i have told her not to do 46178678918 times by now she slams it down on the tile and it bounces super high, my dog comes around the corner to see me and it slams him in his eye!!!! his eye is now swollen and hes laying down. he didnt even beg for food when i was eating lunch  he laid down and refused to get up for anything... poor baby. i thought i was going to attack her for hurting my baby!

Can you dismiss her? I wouldn't keep her around for anthing. You can also have a "come to Jesus" meeting with her. I'm not sure I could have controlled myself if she had hurt Penny or Ein.

I cant dismiss her... unfortuanlty i'm just the receptionist (with other expanding duties like everything involving this clinic) If i could get rid of her i would... trust me... she is homeschooled and bored is what it comes down to. mommy is tired of her being there bugging her so she sends her over here so we can babysit. I almost lost it when he yelped like that.... my initial reaction was to check on him first.... my poor baby.... the good news is that i gave him some meds to help with the swelling and held some ice on it for about 15 mins and his eye while still very red is much better... hes playing with the other dog thats here now so i guess hes feeling a little better...

this isnt the first time she has hurt him. when he was little he ate a rock  needless to say it got stuck and exporatory surgery was in order to remove it, as a result his midsection is very sensitive (it makes sense right lol) and i've told her over and over and over, she went to grab him today and he almost bit her! part of me says he should of but then i get afraid because i think hes got pitt in him and just because of that if he did bite her they would want to put him down.... and that would break my heart  but she has pulled his ears and his tail and even i found out has HIT HIM at times as well! :angry5: when i found that out i explained i was the ONLY one on this planet allowed to disipline (sp?) him (and i have never used physical force on him, the worst hes gotten was a scolding lol) she stopped that thankfully but i swear yall.... today i almost lost it! :banghead:

Parents these days need a firm and bracing reality check. They get tired and expect everyone else to raise their child. :angry5: It drives me nuts. I am a teacher, and some of the parents make me want to pull my hair out!You might try speaking to your boss and see if there is anything else she can do or somewhere else she can be. Maybe you will get lucky and she will be dismissed. I'm sure it would put her in a bad light that she hauled off and hit some other person's dog. No one would want that to happen to a patient's dog. Any way, good lukc dealing with her. In a school setting it is a lot easier to discipline than in an office/volunteer setting. Maybe you boss would talk to her mother. She can't be too old if she is home schooled. She may just need a firm hand. Sorry, I'm rambling! Kids that are ill mannered with pets, don't listen and have no work ethic make me soooooo mad!

thank you for the advice, and yes i agree with you. She's 12 so i think she's too young to be here as it is! i wasnt allowed to volunteer to do anything until i was 15 and learning to drive, but no she has no work ethic at all. as for her being dismissed, her dad is a high powered person in my area... and we need to keep good ties with him so i dont think that is gonna work

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
