phoenix worms

I just saw a web site for phoenix worms. They are said to be great feeders, very nutritional. They have enough calcium to not even need gut loading or dusting. Im just wondering if anyone else has used these and if they are really that good.

Also is it posible to overdose them on calcium. I know they need alot but would can giving them to much hurt them?...

Yeah phoenix worms are great staple feeders and your right, they don't need dusting. There are lots of people on here that use them and have good reviews.

You can give too much calcium- Beardies often just excrete what calcium is not used in the form of chalky white urates. It is apparently difficult to overdose on calcium (from what ive read) but if so too much calcium can be bad, it can cause hypercalcemia which can damage the kidneys and cause renal failure. Calcium should be given 5 times a week, one feed per day for younger beardies. if you get the phoenix worms then those will provide the source of calcium rather than dusting

IMO I've had better luck with the Reptiworms which are basically the same thing as phoenix just a different company.. I've ordered from both and the phoenix worms were dead twice when I got the order and then the packing they come in is harder to deal with.. www.reptiworms.com is a great place to order and they give a 20% discount for people on this website.. The coupon for that is bearded20... They always come shipped wiggling like crazy when u open them up..ONce again this is just my opinion.. There are threads on this forum about both companies..

I agree-- am having a ridiculous time trying to get a shipment of dead worms from phoenixworms.com replaced.

So far they are refusing to send replacements after my first order arrived 95% dead-- they want me to order a *second* time to get my replacement included in the same shipment! Why on earth would I order again given the complete failure of my first order? I advise steering clear of these people-- go with someone who cares about customer service!
