I enjoyed those pics as well, especially the big boy with full beard displayed ! Doesn't look very cuddly, does he ? And yes, beardies do live on sand in parts of Australia, and that is red sand.

It's not sand, beardies don't live on sand, it's compacted clay.

OK... I'm not going to argue... I'm just going to mearly state that:
1) I am Australian and live in Australia so I know what the country is made off.

2) I have been all over the country and yes, I have been to the places where Pagona vitticeps are endemic

3) I stand by my statements in regards to "sand" (i even took pics of the substrate and composition last time I was "out back", as well as the heath's, schelophyll forest and all other places Pagona vitticeps are endemic too. I even posted that on this forum to show what it actually looks like and what the top soil looks like. Sadly that post got deleted)

Hello,

I agree, Australia has a very diverse variety of sand, clay & top soils. I think the difference in the sand is that the sand out in the wild does not clump while most of the sand that is used in tanks is calcium based sand & it clumps. That makes a big difference.
