I have recently taken my beardie Draco to the vet as she hasnt been herself lately. I had her feaces checked and she has a parasite or parasites and is now on meds for this. She also has a very raised scale/lump on her back which the vet took a sample of. It turns out this is a cyst of some sort. I have just to keep an eye on it. The vet says reptiles take a very long time to heal up if they have something like this.
so... How do beardies get parasites and are they commen? Has anyone else had similar problems with their Beardie?
She is soo quiet at the moment, hiding in her log all day long and not coming out of her own accord. I take her out the log to feed her roaches every second day which she only eats 2-4 of. She gets salad everyday but hardly touches it. She wont eat crickets. I dont want to disturb her because when i do i get the typical beardie look lol.
I moved to Germany from Scotland in November 2011 bringing her with me. She hasnt been right since :( . Im soooooo worried.

P.s i am planning on traveling back to Scotland at the end of June this year. Will she be ok to come with me? XXX

Worm and parasite eggs are on feeder insects. No way around it, it's a fact of life so it's not uncommon for beardies to get worms or parasites. It is generally recommended to get a fecal done at least once a year and anytime your otherwise healthy beardie starts showing signs of infestation. The main sign is runny, exceptionally smelly poo's but they can also have loss of appetite and lethargy. Be sure to keep your beardie hydrated thru the medication course. If she won't drink, a daily bath for 10 to 15 minutes will help hydrate her.
I have no experience with cycts. I'm sure someone will pop in who does know about them.

I'm in the same boat as you. Actually I took Ginger and Spike to the vet about 6 weeks ago. They both had coccidia and Ginger had something they couldn't figure out, they even showed me on the microscope. They both got Pancur and Ginger also got Flagyl. I took new stool samples back this past saturday and now yes, the coccidia is still there and Spike has roundworm! Spikes perfectly normal, actually gained 60 grams since the last visit, Ginger gained 30. Ginger is being very lazy though, hiding alot, sleeping, not basking, eating less. So they're both on meds again.

I definitely think its the bugs. I constantly constantly wash my hands, they're housed seperately, bathed seperately, have their own housing items, everything cleaned with bleach and they're housed on tile. If they poo outside of the tank i'm all over it with water, cleaning solution right on the spot. So go figure! How the heck they would have parasites is beyond me.

Other than the P's they're completely health, great temps, vitamins, calcium etc. But I still for some reason feel like a bad mommy because they have parasites :(

I'm sure you're doing a great job, bugs are bugs and that's probably where it came from. I'm sure the trip will be ok if you keep them warm, how many hours is the flight? (i'm no expert in anyway btw)

Do you have any pictures of your baby?

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
