Soo my dragon roo seems to be healthy, but he wont eat. i sit him down and he will MAYBE eat one cricket and thats it. wont eat any greens either...idk what is wrong with him. he is active and brightly colored except for his beard.... he will be a very pale, but brightly colored yellow but his beard would be pitch black.

is he going through a phase, or is he looking for a mate, or.... idk.

ive only had him for a few months, and I'm only guessing at her age because i honestly dont know and the pet store told me he was about 4-5 months old at the time.

Im worried, hes been fine otherwise, just wont touch any food at all...

black beard means highly stressed. There is something most likely off in your enclosure can you please tell us all about your housing. temps, lighting heating types size of cage pics will help with ageing and cage so pic of cage and beardie will help alot.
I am guessing that the temps are not hot enough on the hot basking spot. that would account for all the problems

Hi there....is your dragon a male or female ? Is it near adult or subadult size ? It may be upset about something as SJS mentioned, or it may just be an excitable male that is wanting to breed.

during the day his temps will be anywhere from 105-110, and at night i keep it above 85-90 because he was getting over an RI.
I can get some pictures tomorrow.
I use a clear bulb for his basking spot and a reptisun 10.0 uvb. (i just updated my questionnaire in my signature...).

and ROO is technically a boy, i just refer to him as a girl.
and I'm going to guess she is closer to sub adult than adult. she is only 17 inches long and I guess her to be about 9-10 months old but i wouldnt have any clue.
I base it off the guess the pet store had and what research ive done on the size:length ratio..

Also today, the weather was nice enough that while i was at work my mom let roo bask outside for a little while then brought her inside and she ate about 8 crickets.
So i wondered if it was some how the weather that has made her upset.
(its been non stop rain for the past month or so and this weird behavior only started about a week ago).

He's right at the age + size where males can begin to show their black beard simply because they are approaching adulthood. I've seen it many times in my own dragons over the years, and some will start head bobbing and/or a bit of foot stomping, but others don't. I would like point out one thing, your night temps. should not be more than 82 even if he had an R.I., 85 - 90 is too high and can actually make things worse with his breathing. Just keep it around 78 -80 at the highest. Hopefully he's not dehydrated from the high temps., so be sure to keep him hydrated well, even offering water with a syringe or eyedropper. A spray bottle will work a well, but you just drip a small amount on his nose for him to lick up if he will . But definitely keep the temps. lower.

Was Roo on meds for the RI? Did you give him a probiotic if he was? The medicine might have messed with his appetite.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
