Pale spot, soft scale?

Ember has a pale patch at the top of her tail and one of the scales on it feels soft. At first I thought it was just the beginning of a shed, but reading about possible infections is worrying me. One of the scales is soft to the touch. (It is the upper left of the pale patch in the photos.) Anyone seen this before? Am I over worrying or should I take her to the vet?

It does look like shed but are the pics taken in 2 types of lighting or before + after shed. Because in 1 pic the body looks grey and the other looks orange. The scales are raised in that area .

O.K, yeah that looks like a patch of shed. If you're concerned you can get a small tube of Lamisil antifungal cream to apply if it doesn't go away but it should be fine.
