We recently rescued Paco. A ~4 year old dragon that lived with a family whose son is now in a military college. We have been told that Paco is a male, though we actually believe it to be the opposite When we got Paco, it was in a 65 gallon tank, with sand, 2 Sunglo lights. Paco's previous owners were ill-informed by the pet store (the usual suspects) about so much. Going by what the store told them, Paco's diet was Red Leaf lettuce, strawberries, cantaloupe (all 2x a week) and crickets 2x a week. We were able to visit Paco the day before he/she came home, and we noticed no water in it's cage. When we picked Paco up, still no water. Thursday, after we got home, and arranged Paco's tank for adjustment's sake...a few hours later, Paco pooped...it was the consistency of cold gravy, nothing but liquid. No pictures of that, I didn't think of it.
Since coming home, Paco's diet consists of Collard Greens, plenty of water, and about 15-20 crickets every day!
Saturday, Paco got it's first run of the house. While exploring, it pooped again...this time was a little more solid, but a LOT of fluid. We removed all the sand from Paco's tank, gave Paco a bath, and changed his lighting a bit. Yesterday while getting another run, Paco pooped; and again it was some solid, but mainly fluid. Oh, and Paco's urates look more like thick yogurt or sour cream, with a pinkish tint (from the strawberries, I'm guessing). I do have an appointment to double check the sex of Paco, and check for dehydration and parasites.
Paco weighs 370 g (13.1 oz) and measures 18.5 inches. Any insight is appreciated.
