Outside Temperature

Spring and summer are coming, and I would like to give my beardie some outside time. I live in SC which has a very humid climate, so I don't want to get sick either. What temperature should it be before she can go outside? How many times a week? How long would be safe? Any real life experience recommendations would be great.

Anything is better than nothing at this point. Took her out this weekend while I cleaned the enclosure. She informed me that she is an "indoor, hipster" beardie, not an "outdoor, hippie" one. She was flaring her beard the whole time. I put a box in for her to hide under, but no go...She is going to need some practice.

well everything takes time with a reptile. provide places to hide, and let nature take its course. i can hardly wait to setup my outdoor enclosure! still a couple of months away from that, but like it or not, he's going to go outside and as long as conditions allow, stay out there. it's so good for them, natural sun and atmo…….

I have a playpen for my beardies with a divider in it, I take the playpen out when the temps are 75 to 80 for about an hour to an hour and half. I put half the pen in shade and half in bright sunlight. I live in Colorado so would never leave them out for very long at a time as the winds coming off the mountains even in summer can get chilly. If its windy here I do not take them out for more than 20 mins due to the dust and stuff in the air, don't want them breathing dirt and dust in as we are on the edge of the country. Natural sunlight is very good for them, but also with that they still need temps from a basking light and a place to bask. When I think they are cold they come in..they may go out several times a day but always back in to warm up eat and digest before going back outside.
