Hi all,

My boyfriend allowed me to rescue another Beardie last week. He came into our home last Tuesday and he is adapting well. He has not gone through any relocation stress that I can see. No tummy stress marks, eats like a pig except he won't touch his greens.

Beaker is said to be 2 years old. He is 18 1/2 inches long and weighs 350grams. He's a skinny guy with lots of spunk. I'm sure within the next 6 months he will be nice and plump and ready to go to a carefully selected different home where he will be happy. I don't intend to keep Beaker forever, just long enough to get him to a healthy weight and to ensure he is healthy all around.

I didn't intend to get a new beardie, let alone another rescue. I have my hands full with the 3 I already have but when I saw his picture and talked to the girl who owned him I just knew he needed my help.

By the looks of him, he is a citrus of some kind or another. No signs of MBD that I can see. No other health concerns that I have noticed in the last week of having him. Until last week he had never had a bath. He wasn't handled very much either. That is changing! He gets daily baths to try and get rid of the sand that's all over him and the stain from the sand that's all over his feet, tail, tummy and the little bit around his mouth. I'm keeping a close eye on him incase he is impacted from the orange sand they had him in. He's had 3 good poops that look normal in the last week although none of them in the bath unfortunately.

He is starting to clean up and the stain is starting to fade a bit but here are some pictures of him in his first bath last Tuesday after we brought him home.

The marks around his lips are stain from the orange sand. It is starting to fade now. I was a little worried when I first saw pics but when you look at it close it's not as bad as it looks.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
