Our First Clutch

On New Year's day our female Aurora laid her first clutch. It was not our intention to have Spoke and Aurora mate but my 11 year old was cleaning out the enclosures and instead of keeping the male separate from the females he put all three to soak in the tub on Thanksgiving Day and here we are with our first clutch
.
We are having a difficult time getting the humidity level in the styrofoam incubator up, the highest we have gotten it has been to 45% and every attempt to bring it up, ends up bringing up the temp to high, so if anyone has any idea on how to bring up the humidity without compromising the temp, please do share.

I by the way, In no way place blame on my son for the event that occurred, I should have reminded him to keep them separate.

I had the same problem. I put a damp washcloth inside the incubator(spread out) and my humidity stays 85-90%. I hope this helps. Good luck. We also were not expecting our first clutch. They are due to hatch around the end of this month. It's very exciting.

Has anyone ever thought of using ultra sonic humidifiers for raising humidity,,,just a thought;)
I use them for my terrariums (another hobby) hooked up to timers, keeps humidity where ever i want it and is very hastle free.
I have not made a incubator for eggs yet but this will be the way i go.

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my post beardedmama, I tried that but it only raises it to 48 -50 humidity, I don't know if that is sufficient or not? I have all the chambers in the incubator filled to the max, and still nothing, if I raise the temp it gets to hot and still doesnt produce enough humidity.

In response to Nilla, I'm not sure how that would work??? Is there a humidifier that I can use in the incubator, is that what you are suggesting? Or is that ultra sonic humidifier for regular use, like in your room? I see that you stated you use it in your terrariums, please let me know what it is made specifically for, this is all new to me, I know there are many gadgets that I am unfamiliar with :banghead: . Thanks in advance, and for taking the time to respond in the first place.

Are you close to Ocala? I noticed that it said Citrus Springs. I am in Leesburg. I was thinking maybe if we're not too far apart, I could come over to take a look at the situation. Also, are you using a store bought incubator?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
