Oscar seems sick

My little baby bearded dragon oscar has not been eating anything for 3 days. He is always tired and only opens his eyes if i give him a bath or spray water on him. his temperatures were low so we are going to get a new light tommorow. any advice would be helpful please. he is under 6 inches and just a baby so i doubt it would be brumation. He is also shedding, so is that part of the problem? I read somewhere that barometric changes in the weather can make them like this. Is that true? Also he is very limp and every time i pick him up and set him back down, he just saggs. He doesn't hold up his head and doesn't move around that much. When i set him down in his bath, he doesn't hold his head out of the water so i have to scoot him up to where he can breath. Do i need to take him to the vet or can i do something?

If his temps are that low they probably been that way for a while so maybe it shouldn't wait till tommorrow,you can use a higher wattage household bulb, that and shedding is probably why he isn't eating, what are his temps and how do you take them should only use a digital thermometer or infrared gun

keep your temps tonight at 85 even at night if your beardie is sick they ,need to keep their body temp higher and since they are cold blooded they cant regulate their temp like us theyr environment does that for them. also if hes losing weight and appearing weak and lifeless start force feeding him some food like applesauce, chicken babyfood , or turkey, any kind of protein to help..and like stated his temps need to only be measured with a gun or digtal proble( really cheap) the stick on wall ones can be 20 degrees off in any direction so its important . hope your baby gets better

his temps were roughly around the 90's on the hot side and around the 80's on the cool side. We will get a digital thermometer ASAP and how exactly do u force feed? do you just put applesauce on his nose and let him lick it off or try to open his mouth and force it in? Also I read somewhere else that repti glo uvb bulbs were bad so we are going to the store to get a different one ASAP. that's probably whats causing him to keep his eyes closed dont you think?

Hello,

The Reptiglo tube bulbs are not good, correct. Look for a Reptisun 10 tube bulb at the store. Steer away from the Zilla T-50 tropical lights!
The basking temperatures need to be a range of 95-110 for optimal health with a cooler end of around 78-82 measured with either a digital probe or a temp gun.
To assist feed, simply use a plastic syringe or plastic dropper to drip food onto the end of his nose & he should lick the food off of his nose.

Theo is 7 years old and had a little stomach problem. He seems to have passed his blockage, but now he wont eat. It has also been 3 days. I put baby food on his lips and nose, but he wont even lick.
Is it ok to get the syringe in his mouth and just squirt the baby food in his mouth?

How long can a beardie do without eating? I have been foroce feeding a few drops of water each day as well.

you may not find the reptisun 10 tube uvb in any of your local pet stores. I can't find it in any of our local pet stores. We have to purchase it online. We get it at www.petmountain.com. This is the easiest and cheapest place to get it.

You need to upload you photos to a photo site like photobucket. With photobucket you click on the bottom link under the picture you want to post then come to your 'post a reply' then right click. Paste should be highlighted, click on that one then a link message shows up, to see if the picture posted correctly, click on 'preview', just below the reply space. You will see your post above the 'reply' space. When it looks like you want it to look, then you click submit.
