Oscar isn't eating

My little baby bearded dragon oscar has not been eating anything for 3 days. He is always tired and only opens his eyes if i give him a bath or spray water on him. his temperatures were low so we are going to get a new light tommorow. any advice would be helpful please. he is under 6 inches and just a baby so i doubt it would be brumation :dontknow: He is also shedding, so is that part of the problem? I read somewhere that barometric changes in the weather can make them like this. Is that true? Also he is very limp and every time i pick him up and set him back down, he just saggs. He doesn't hold up his head and doesn't move around that much. When i set him down in his bath, he doesn't hold his head out of the water so i have to scoot him up to where he can breath. Do i need to take him to the vet or can i do something?

my baby beardie was doin the same thing until i bought rept-aid its a medicine that takes alll types of diseases out go to bigappleherp.com and look it up it really helps

I just went through a similar thing with one of my babies, she would not eat for 3 or 4 days (she used to chow down crix) and then only eat a couple of reptiworms in the morning. she would go to bed sometimes at 3:00 in the afternoon, then she shed and now is back to eating her crix like before. During this time, she did drink a lot of water from my morning misting and bath because she wasn't getting the liquid she normally would from her bugs.

you may be going through the same thing, although, your situation does sound more serious. My baby seemed to be more alert than what you are describing. Make sure Oscar gets plenty of liquid, what I did was mist about an hour after lights on and my baby would just lap it up off her nose. Make sure you temps and UV light are correct also.

Ok. We are ordering a new reptisun uvb because we figured out that reptiglo was bad. and thanks for the link Dito10 i will check into the medicine and see about getting it.

Oscar is doin much better! Thanks for the good advice! He is eating much better and moving around better. He is still skittish and shy, but i figure thats just because hes a baby. :mrgreen:
