Orbax Side Effects?

Hi Everyone!

So just got back from my vet. Took my 2 year old in because he was showing signs of an upper respiatory infection and sure enough after he checked the swab of his mouth fluid, the doctor says he does have an infection.

He's put him on 2.0 ml of Orbax for 21 days. Does anyone else have experience with this medicine? Are there possible side effects I should be looking out for?

I don't have experience with Orbax, but I've used Enrofloxacin without much problem. I'm guessing they're similar. As with most antibiotics, I would suggest using a probiotic such as bene-bac, acidophiliz+ or some soy yogurt to help rebuild the gut bacteria destroyed by treatment. It may also be helpful to boost the nighttime temps to up around 80 using a CHE if needed.

Thanks! I do have some powdered probiotcs with calcium that I got last year when he had the pinworms but maybe I'll try the yogurt since that powder may be too old. I actually went out last night right after the vet and bought a 60w CHE to keep him nice and toasty at night to help fight this off. Sounds like my instincs were right! 8)
