I just got Yoda's new terrarium in a few days ago; I opted for the ExoTerra 36x18x36 since she is quite the climber. Needless to say she is loving life in her larger cage(had a 40B). Due to space requirements her lamps are all inside the enclosure...which lets me vary basking temps a lot. She has 2 mini deep domes, the middle one has a 75watt bulb and the right has a 100watt bulb. I had to decrease the middle down to 75watt due to hightemps in that area being around 125*F. Highest reading I get anywhere is around 115*F with various places reading in the low 100s and high 90s. The cool end stays about 85*F and under her wood structure is about 80*F. Her hammock is 105*F for perfect basking. I am using 1 39watt HOT5 zoomed 10.0 in a Nanotech Sunblaster fixture. It was a touch too long to go straight across but is diagonal from the back left corner to the front right corner.
I plan to buy her a PennPlax Lizard Lounger in the 29" long version to give her some climbing on the cool end. She does scale the back wall which is somewhat concerning for me...but she seems to enjoy scaling it and leaping onto her wood. The lamps being on the inside are also helping me with humidity as her terrarium is now around 30-35% vs the 45-50% it was in her old home. I run a dehumidifier 24/7 in my house but I also keep 11 large aquariums going so humidity is an issue.
Overall I like the looks of it and she seems to be enjoying things; however I am concerned about the long term. Ive never seen anyone use this cage for a beardie, does anyone see any possible issues?
