I just got Yoda's new terrarium in a few days ago; I opted for the ExoTerra 36x18x36 since she is quite the climber. Needless to say she is loving life in her larger cage(had a 40B). Due to space requirements her lamps are all inside the enclosure...which lets me vary basking temps a lot. She has 2 mini deep domes, the middle one has a 75watt bulb and the right has a 100watt bulb. I had to decrease the middle down to 75watt due to hightemps in that area being around 125*F. Highest reading I get anywhere is around 115*F with various places reading in the low 100s and high 90s. The cool end stays about 85*F and under her wood structure is about 80*F. Her hammock is 105*F for perfect basking. I am using 1 39watt HOT5 zoomed 10.0 in a Nanotech Sunblaster fixture. It was a touch too long to go straight across but is diagonal from the back left corner to the front right corner.

I plan to buy her a PennPlax Lizard Lounger in the 29" long version to give her some climbing on the cool end. She does scale the back wall which is somewhat concerning for me...but she seems to enjoy scaling it and leaping onto her wood. The lamps being on the inside are also helping me with humidity as her terrarium is now around 30-35% vs the 45-50% it was in her old home. I run a dehumidifier 24/7 in my house but I also keep 11 large aquariums going so humidity is an issue.

Overall I like the looks of it and she seems to be enjoying things; however I am concerned about the long term. Ive never seen anyone use this cage for a beardie, does anyone see any possible issues?

I think the difficulty here would be access to UVB throughout the day. The reason is that with long vivs, there is some benefit from UVB even when not on a basking spot, but the distance in that viv between the UVB and the floor is much vaster.

If beardie spends a lot of time in the top half of the viv, then this is not such a concern.

I do see where you're coming from with giving the beardie places to climb. I have a climber too. He's always on something, even sleeping.

I agree with Mysty as well. If he is not climbing and on the ground the lights needs to reach him Think most ppl prefer longer and larger because if they grow in lenght they need to be able to turn around properly as well..
When they get larger than need larger logs and such.
Maybe temperature gradient would be hard to get .
Think thats the only issue I see with taller instead of longer/wider.

What I would do is move all the lights up as high as they can go, and then add more shelving and ways to climb up higher, etc. If you are using a Reptisun T5 HO then it should be fine and you don't want her really getting any closer than 12" inches from it anyway, if not more like 14".

She is up more than down for sure, and I am using the reprising 10.0 T5HO in the 39watt version. Is that sufficient to even reach the bottom? Or should I switch out one of the heat bulbs for a power sun for even more UV?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
