So, i ordered hornworms, and when they came they were small. So I wanted them to grow a little and now they're too big for my little guy and my big guy isn't able to eat them fast enough!! Lol
My question is, can I freeze them. Chop them up. Thaw them out and then feed them to my little guy?
He loves them but they're 3" or bigger now and I'm afraid he'll choke or something. He's probably about 10" if you take into account the part of his tail that's missing, but these worms are giant. I haven't seen them in 7 hours so I'm sure they've doubled in size, again. Ill slow them down when I get home, but that doesn't solve my issue now. This was my first horn worm experience. I'd call it a disaster!!

Yeah, hornworms grow BIG, FAST!

They are a soft-bodied worm, so it's ok to push it a bit on the feeding size,
as long as your guy is a chewer rather than a swallower.

However, 3 inches, with him being only 10 inches long, is probably too big
even for a soft-bodied worm type.

You could try freezing them and chopping them up smaller, but I think that
would be a big mess once thawed out again; plus your guy may not like them
that way :)

You could just get rid of them (freeze them first to ensure they are dead), or
possibly offer them to a friend or something who might have an adult dragon?
An adult dragon can handle pretty much any sized hornworm.

My little guy IS a chewer. Lol. I think I found a way though. And he seemed to not mind. I cut a little one in half, it deflated, and he ate it. *shudders*
I have to say, it was the most disgusting thing I've ever done!!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
