We are new beardie owners and I have learned so much from this site. This is my first post. We have had our guy for 3 months now. Everything is going great! He's happy, active, growing like a weed, eats good, poops good, etc. His 40 gallon tank is setup exactly like you all have suggested. Temps are perfect. PowerSun UV MVB. He eats crickets galore (20-30 twice daily). He gets veggies in the morning. But here's the funny thing I have a question about. He will only eat veggies that are yellow. Corn, yellow bell peppers, yellow squash. His favorite is the yellow bell peppers, but won't touch the green, red or orange ones. Will this be a problem? Is there something in the green veggies that they need? We offer them every day, but he won't touch anything that isn't yellow. He actually picks thru his collard greens and kale to find the yellow stuff. He gets calcium dust daily (on his crickets) and multivitamin dust weekly.

 Hello & Welcome to BD.org! :D

They can be very funny little boogers. I have experienced that before as well.
A couple of my adult females still insist on picking out the yellow items first.
I had to resort to shredding the yellow squash so it mixed in with the greens better so they
couldn't just pick it out. Silly dragons need their greens.
Have you tried hand feeding him a couple of bites of greens sometimes they will take a nibble or two this way.

Look forward to seeing pic's of your beardie.

Again Welcome!

Hello and welcome!

How old is he?

I had to laugh at his pickiness. The only suggestion I have is to keep trying the other greens, LOL

Yes, We have tried hand feeding the greens and he will sometimes nibble on it a little. But left on his own he will not touch it. The yellow stuff he gobbles up, both from our hands and from the dish. We'll keep trying the green stuff and at least I can be thankful that he eats veggies at all.

He is 5 1/2 months old and big according to the growth charts, so I know he is growing well. In three months, he has doubled in size since bringing him home.

So old enough to be eating some veggies. Little babies may not take to them at all, that is why I asked his age. It's good he is eating at least some kind of veggie. My adult dragon won't touch them other to spread them around his enclosure. ;)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
