Ok so I know I haven't been around in forever (need to send massive updates re: Dante, Randal, Brody, the new house, and the wedding!).....BUT.......many of you may remember how Randal didn't eat for almost a year and finally started again not too long ago. Well this whole time, "he's" been doing really well....eating, pooing, active, etc. All worries gone.

Today I go home for lunch only to find this:

Then I move Randal's bed over and find this:

There's a total of 18!!!!!!! Now I know they're infertile, as she (I'm so used to saying he...this is going to get annoying) has NEVER been with a male and lives by herself. We are ALWAYS around to supervise if Dante and Randal are out at the same time, so I know for a fact that they're infertile. I feel terrible because I didn't know she was going to be laying (couldn't feel a thing), and she didn't have any type of sandbox or laybox. We keep tile in the tank.

OK, so I've called the vet to get some advice, but of course he's not in today. So in the meantime, what can I do to make sure she's ok? I took her out of the tank while I was home for lunch, and she was running around like a maniac trying to climb everything....windows, couch, radiator, etc. She's very active and alert. I plan to go pick up some worms after work today and give a bath tonight, but are there any other suggestions??????

Thanks and I'll try and get some more updates soon....hopefully tonight!

Not expected at all! I guess maybe that's why she finally came out of her funk of not eating and has been eating me out of house and home. But I thought she was just trying to catch up on a year's worth of missed food! She comes out of her tank just about every day, and I haven't felt anything abnormal (or egg-like) at all!

I think I would have fainted, LOL!
I am so not ready for eggs, that is why I was hoping Calypso was a boy.

Does she look well now? Keeping her hydrated and some extra calcium is the only thing I can think of to do.

 Randal is a "she"?! OMG!!!!!!!
She's probably so relieved to have those pesky eggs out of her belly, which explains all the energy.

Like Sandi said, giver her plenty of calcium supplements. Other than that, I have nothing to offer.

Wow, he's a she!

I've heard of people giving a female who's just laid a pinky mouse for extra protein and calcium. Personally, I don't think there's a ever a good reason to give a bd a pinky, but some people do. You could give some extra superworms for more protein, and some squash for the starchiness to help with keeping her weight up.

There will be NO pinkies in my house! I went to the store and bought some silkies and supers. So far, she's had about 6 silkies and 12 supers. She seems to be doing real well right now and is still very active. I had her sitting on my lap before and she literally jumped off on to the floor (I was sitting on the couch) and ran across the room.

Sounds like everything is going well.
First batch of infertiles must have been stressful for her. What a brave girl she's already happy and eating again.
That is a great sign. Yay to go girl!

Yup as Sandi and everyone else has already mentioned lots of calcium and protien.
Dex was also very dehydrated after she laid so Id be tempted to give Randy Randal a couple of soaks a day for a couple of days.

Be aware that even though its her first infertile clutch they can still double clutch. Dex laid three clutchs on her first go.

As far as infertiles + the boys go, even normal interaction or sight of males can stimulate egg laying.
Its nothing to beat yourself up about, or even to stop her seeing them.
Some girls are just more likely to lay than others.

Well she got a nice long warm bath last night before bed. She was swimming around like a lunatic - more than ever. I'll post the video later tonight after work. This morning she had 10 calci-dusted supers for breakfast  She's a hungry girl  After she ate, she went right up on her rock to bask. I'll give her another bath tonight as well.

We've set up a sand box for her in case she lays another clutch. I just hope she uses it.

As for being around a male, she actually has NEVER been around a male. Dante, in all reality, I believe is female as well. (S)he only has one bump and the vet told us about a year ago that he thought they were both female  We just always called them "he" and "him" because when we first got them, they were babies and we didn't know. Now that we're so used to it, my fiancee refuses to accept that they're girls (just like he says we're only going to have sons) He's even still calling Randal a boy anyway....I said to him last night "What else does she have to do to prove you wrong?????"

ETA: the weirdest thing was for the past couple of months Randal has been running around head bobbing at everything. Like fast, violent, head bobs! She also beards up, darkens, and bobs like a maniac when she sees Dante. So even though we knew she was really female, she was doing everything indicative of male behavior! Guess she just really doesn't like Dante

Congratulations on the eggs! We found out that our Bowser is female the same way...came home one day to 12 or so eggs laying in the viv. We didn't clean them out right away, though, and she ate several! One other time she laid a single egg, then when I ran to get my kids to show them, she'd eaten it by the time I got back. Weird lizard. It makes me wonder if she has laid other times and just eaten the eggs before anyone saw them. Is it normal for them to eat the infertiles? :?:

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
