OMG my girlfriend just bought me 2 11 week old Baby Beardies

WOW my girlfriend just bought me 2 11 week old baby beardies and its a little overwhelming lol. The breeder thinks they are girls but who really know at this point. I have them in the same smaller container inside a 40 gallon tank. Lots of heat, light UVB/UVA nice and bright during the day and dark at night. im feeding them crickets all day dusted in vitamin powder and offering greens all day. I give them a bath once or twice day. Any advice? guidance? Im fairly new to the Bearded Dragon world and i have been doing research but any input would be great. Thanks

Hello and welcome! Congrats on getting your beardies.

Lights and temps are very important for their well being.

I would suggest getting a good digital thermometer with a probe for taking temps with.
Also do some reading here on UVB lights. There are some that aren't as good as others and may cause problems.

What size container are they in now? You may be able to put them in the 40 gallon now, as long as you aren''t feeding in there. Crickets can hide from them in a larger enclosure, and may come out at night and nibble on the beardies. Maybe use the smaller container as a feeding container.

Also, there may come a time where you will have to seperate them into their own enclosures.

The container they are in now is one of those plastic Sterilite containers. It's plenty of room for them right now, but I know they'll outgrow it quickly. I just want them to get used to me before I go changing things on them. They were raised in that container. I have them under a reptisun 10.0 and a ceramic heat emitter. I've been monitoring the temps with a digital probe thermometer, but I will be receiving my thermo gun in the mail today. They don't seem too interested in their greens and one of them is more sleepy with less of an appetite than the other. Any words of wisdom? THANKS

My youngest dragon is a bit over 4 months old and still doesn't want to eat her greens. Oscar is 2 1/2 years old and is picky about what he eats too. So I am no help to anyone trying to convince a beardie to eat their veggies. Babies tend to like their feeders more, but if you keep offering greens daily, they will be tempted to try them.

Beardies can also suffer from relocation stress and take some time before they are comfortable in their new home. In a week or so, they should both be perked up and causing you trouble. Also once they move totally in to the 40 gallon, they may be a bit stressed over things being different.

I love my thermal gun, much more convenient for me. Immediate temps, LOL

Yeah i can wait to get my thermogun. We also have a 2 yeard beardie Red Beard and he is picky about his greens...we think hes just lazy cuz he wants us to hand fed him lol. Thanks for the good words. The babies are named Comet and Orion and i will get a pick up as soon as i know how lol

they dont eat their greens really so i worry about them being hydrated so i figured a bath is a good way to keep them hydrated. by the way thanks about the names...u have any idea hoe i post the pic to this post?
