So, we brought Khalil home today for the first time, yay!
The basking spot is now a glorious 108, and 12" from the MegaRay MVB. PERFECT.
Except that, um, Khalil apparently wants to be warmer still. My enclosure has a rocky background (http://www.battisti.us/stuff/terrarium_setup_1.jpg) that is made out of some styrofoam-y material, and Khalil has climbed right up to the top of the tank. The bulb is over the center of the tank, and he's on the wall, so he's not directly under the MVB, but he's definitely closer than 12" to the bulb now, as the crow flies.
Uh, is this OK? If I move my bulb so that it's 12" from the top of the enclosure, there is NO way I'll get the right temps.
Of course, I realize that he's only been here a few hours...
