Hi all,
I have had my baby beardie for just about 2 weeks now. She is 2 months old and has generally been doing very well. Yesterday, though, she refused to eat anything except one cricket all day. She has had 'off days' like this once or twice before but generally she has a good appetite and eats a good number of crickets 2-3 times a day/also has greens offered which she will have a few bits of.
Today though she has a lot darker/browner and duller coloring than usual. She also had a lot of stress stripes on her beard and tummy, the ones on her tummy have faded now but the ones on her beard are still noticeable. Her head and legs and even tail are kind of grey/have a dry look to them, so I am not sure if this is her prepping for a shed or something else. She is not obviously shedding shedding yet but I am not sure what the early stages look like. I have also seem her eye buldge a few times over the past few days so I suspect an upcoming shed could be the culprit because of that, too. Overall she just doesn't look like her usual self so I am worried about her, and since she is my first beardie I am not sure what is normal or not yet. I have attached a picture.
She has eaten one cricket so far today. She really doesn't seem too interested in food at all. She is alert but a bit less active as usual.
Basking temps range from 90-110, the cool side of the tank stays in the mid to high 70s. She poops daily and gets a bath every 2-3 days and gets misted 1-2 times a day with water dripped on her snout for her to drink as well.
