Odin is trying to eat the rocks in his enclosure?

Hello,
I put my dragon in his new enclosure tonight, which contains a group of large, freshly cleaned rocks. He keeps trying to chew on the sides of his rocks? He wont be able to actually ingest any of them, as they are too large and solid. Any idea what he is doing?

Is he running against them or actually trying to take a bite?

What sort of rock are they? What is your calcium/vitamin dusting schedule? He may be trying to self supplement minerals from them.

i wouldn't worry about it .. i had my beardie in her enclosure for 3 weeks when she started biting at the rocks , possibly could be a calcium thing if you aren't putting calcium powder on the live feed/veggies .. if you are , it's most likely just your beardie being a weirdo , my girl stopped after a day .

He gets his supplements 1-2 times a day, heavy dusting on the crickets, a little lighter on the veggies. And it only happened right after I put him in his new enclosure, he was trying to take an actual chomp outta the rock. And they are real rocks. But I haven't seen him do it yet today so maybe he was just trying to get the "flavor" of his new enclosure haha. Little weirdo.

probably checking to make sure it isn't secretly food or something :)
As long as it doesn't become a habit I wouldn't worry.

Hopefully it's not a habit now, I haven't seen it do him yet, but I'm keeping an eye out. He's a weird little guy that does a lot of weird stuff. He's been trying to climb the walls in his new enclosure as well. He never did this in his old one, but his old one was all glass and much smaller. Very strange.

He sounds like quite a character!

I would check for chipped teeth if he can really get his teeth on the rocks.
You can poke at his mouth, or offer a cricket just out of reach to get a good look!

I checked, and they all look fine. I think he just thought they were food or something. He's so used to being fed outside his enclosure that I put him in a new place and he automatically tried to eat everything in site haha. He bit it a couple times, scratched it, licked it, then realized it wasn't going to give up any crickets and left it alone. Just a little fatty I guess haha

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
