Okay, one side affect of having lizards that I did not anticipate is super dry skin on my hands from washing my hands so often after handling dragons. My kids are experiencing this too. We live in Minnesota where it's really dry in the winter, so this is already a problem anyway.

So, I'd like to put a lotion by the sink that we can all use after we wash our hands, but I don't want a lotion that is going to hurt the dragons. Do you think something like the scent free lubriderm will be okay?

Do you guys have a suggestion of something natural that will not harm the dragons or lizards? I know I can't be the only one this happens to. :)

Thanks~

I bet something like Bag Balm would be good, or even just a little tube of cortisone cream. I use the cream on myself and my cat for small abrasions or itchy spots, and in winter it's great for healing up the little cracks you can get in really dry skin.

LOL! I had to laugh when I read this. The things we worry about due to our beloved beardies! I was thinking lanolin would be good too. I mean if its OK for nursing babies to ingest, it couldn't hurt a beardie right? :) and a little bit goes a LONG way!

You're definitely not the only one! Colorado gets really dry too. Usually I use antibacterial with aloe, that way the chemicals aren't completely drying my hands out but I also use Aveeno to help rehydrate if it's super dry. Petroleum jelly or coconut oil is also really good at restoring hydration though it does tend to take a while to absorb. I'll put that on my hands or feet at night before bed and wake up to super smooth and soft skin.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
