Hey everyone! Hoping to get an opinion on my beardie's behavior and scale color change.

Zaku's setup:
* 55 gallon tank
* 100 degree basking area on a high suspended hammock, gradient of 85 degrees to 75 degrees on bottom with a log hide. He only spends time on the cool side to eat and primarily does circles on the upper level and hammock.
* White 100w basking bulb
* T8 ZooMed ReptiSun 10.0 UVB tube mounted inside the tank next to basking area. Changed 2 months ago. He sits within a couple inches of it.

Eats:
* Dubia roaches alternating calcium and multivitamin dusting
* BSF larvae
* Approved fruit/veggies from thebeardeddragon.org (he's a big fan of endive and radicchio right now)

Recently we discovered an oddly colored patch on my beardie’s head. He hasn’t shed in a while and it sort of looked like the start of a shed, but it can change color or pattern and size. We were afraid it was yellow fungus and made an appointment with our vet, but the closest appointment is September 14th. I’ve read that a fungus can spread quickly and can be deadly, and I don’t want to wait that long. We can bring him to another vet a few hours away if you all think it’s urgent. Sometimes it appear to completely go away but normally comes back in roughly the same area.

Does this seem normal?

Additional behavioral info:
I haven't seen stress marks, but a few times in the past week his beard has turned black. He seems jumpy when we come around but not aggressive. He's also had a lot of energy and spends most of his day glass surfing and tearing up his tank unless we set him up a basking spot at the window where he'll sit happily for hours. If we don't take him out of the tank eventually he'll get worked up and poop and run through it, which is not normal behavior for him. He gets regular baths and usually waits to poop until he's in the bath. We treat his baths with ReptiSafe. His appetite is normal otherwise and has recently started eating a mix of greens without needing to be tricked into it.

This behavior started around the first week in July when we had to take him out of town on a trip to see family for 3 weeks. We took his entire tank and setup to lessen the stress, but his behavior has changed since the trip.

His last vet checkup was about 10 months ago when he was being sluggish. He was free of parasites and needed to get through brumation. A new UVB bulb helped too. He also tested positive for ADV when he was a few months old.

Hi there, can you post pics of his set up to show the lighting ? I wonder if it's a burn.

Sounds like he's a bit close and that lifting his head up for whatever reason would basically touch the bulb?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
