Hi everyone. My rescue girl Pixie has been through so much. We just got done with having pinworms which we are treating her for and also Pseudomonas bacteria which she was on baytril for ten days. I have had excellent advice from Ellen who told me what to do with probiotics ect.
Now....she hasn't pooped
In over a week. Also her mouth stays open more and she looks like she dorsnt feel great. What do
I do?

The Baytril may be dehydrating. The probiotics are good but I would also offer plenty of extra water by dripping it on her nose to lick up if she wants to. Do this several times per day in small batches. That should help protect her systems from the antibiotics and may also help her poop more easily.

Sorry, I didn't see your message until about an hour ago, I had a water pipe burst in my house, flooding into the foundation, lovely...

As Cooper said, she's probably dehydrated from the antibiotics, which can cause some constipation...I think you bought her some unflavored Pedialyte? Like I said, you can drip that on her snout, or mix it with some of the baby food and with a little raw, canned pumpkin, and drip that mix on her snout, and then the next day after feeding her that give her a warm bath, the pumpkin should work as a laxative. A week without pooping isn't too bad, if it gets to two weeks then you worry...

As far as the mouth gaping, is it only when on her basking spot? If so, I would take the basking spot temperature again and see what it is, it may be that it's a bit hot for her, it's always good to remeasure the temps inside her tank periodically, as they change with outside temps too...But I'm sure that the Baytril and the Panacur are making her not feel very well....She finished her Baytril, right? Did you give her some of the Soy Yogurt or other food before giving her the Panacur? Panacur works, but it's rough on them, her feeling badly is completely normal while taking it. Putting the Soy Yogurt in her belly before giving her the Panacur can help. Keep me posted, I'll be sure to check in on my messages...

Yes Ellen I did everything you told me to do. She's been finished with the baytril for a while and I've
Been giving her the pedialyte as well. She's just sitting on me gapingher mouth. I check her temps every day. They are good.
It's almost like she swallows and there's something stuck but nothing's there. She ate some supers and collard greens this morning. I'll mix some pedialyte and canned pumpkin and see if that helps.

Ok so I have her some canned pumpkin which I always have on hand for the dogs. And some pedialyte mixed with it. I will do this how many times a day?

For impaction just once a day should do it...

Is she still doing the gulping? Does she have a black beard? Is it possible a superworm was too large for her? They can sometimes cause issues like that if they're too big and the beardie has trouble swallowing him...How long is she in inches now?

She's not really doing it anymore thank goodness. Ok so
I just gave her a little more pumpkin and pedialyte and some probiotics this morning. She is basking now so
I guess we will wait and see. She is about 12-14inches

If she's up for it, I recommend nice juicey wormy insects such as silkworms or hornworms , see

Personally , I'd offer her a banquet of medium sized silkworms , as they are more nutritious as well having a good Ca/P having a good amt of moisture in them.

though Hornworms have the edge if you want to hydrate the beardie

HORNWORMS:
Moisture = 85% ... very high
Fat = 3%
Protein = 9% ..... very low
Ca/P = 0.333

Both silkworms and hornworms are very soft bodied and very juicey .... and IMO a perfect way to keep a lizard hydrated.
Silkworms seem to help my lizards go more , so that's something else in their favour.

I believe she has hornworms, correct? I know you're feeding BSFL, so that's good as well, not dehydrating at all...

I'd try a warm bath in a bit, with tummy rubs while she's in the water, starting under her left armpit and going all the way down her left side to her vent, then try to encourage her to swim around a bit in the warm water (make it a little warmer than usual). The canned pumpkin usually works extremely well with the extra hydration from the Pedialyte.

She's basking under uv right now. I gave her a bath yesterday. I will try again later with another bath. I just want her to poop. Lol

Still no poop. Giving more pumpkin and pedialyte. And mustard greens.

How long has it been now? Do you feel any lumps in her tummy on the right side? Yes, keep giving the slurries and giving baths, she'll eventually go, but she's holding onto it for some reason, lol.

Is she an adult ? If so, they can go much longer without a poo . Just keep up what you're doing and she will eventually go. There have been many posts here where beardies have not gone for 3 weeks. One was by a poster with username Zaxtor [ or similar ] who I advised to give baby food prunes [ the pumkin + squash work good as well ] and he was so happy that he made a youtube video about how his dragon poo'd soon after the prunes.

So just be patient, one week is not a long time and it should happen soon.

Yes she's an adult. It's a little full in there. I'll give her another bath and massage her again tonight. It has been about 9days since no poop.
